With Twilight away in Canterlot, Spike is left to his own devices. But Ponyville isn't the busiest of towns and before long, boredom begins to creep.

So to cheer himself up he decides to go spend time with his friends. Five stalwart companions whom he has known through thick and thin.

But Spike soon begins to realise that really, those are Twilight's friends. Not his.

In fact he starts to wonder whether, since he moved to Ponyville, he's actually made any friends at all...

But Twilight Sparkle isn't ready for her book to be closed. Not yet.

Princess Cadance wakes up to care for Flurry Heart in the middle of the night, but notices something. She's growing. This makes her realize her little baby isn't going to stay little for very long, and thinks ahead to all of the wonderful things yet to come.

Celestia writes a letter to her imprisoned sister, remembering their time together.

It's short, but I really don't think anything else is necessary.

Note: This was written before season 2, so some of the details might have been de-canoned in the meantime.

In the catacombs of the underworld, a plan is unfolding. One that will leave one brother imprisoned for his crimes. But there is something about walking away free that doesn't seem right to Scorpan.

Today is a sunny day... but it shouldn't be.

Pinkie is well known for her optimism, parties, and skills in making delicious sweets... she isn't however known for being sad. When she is most ponies keep their distance so as to not make the situation worse by any means. Pinkie doesn't care though. The only one who can make things better now passed away several years ago... but her impact on Pinkie's life remains strong.

It really was a very nice hat she'd given Spike.

Even though Twilight gave it back to her after his rampage was over, Cheerilee doesn't want to keep it.

She really should give it back to him.
