Applejack reached up with a fore hoof to touch the brim of her hat. It was habitual, almost unconscious. She could feel, nestled safely underneath the hat, her two most precious treasures--a single blue feather and a small snippet of purple mane.

They were precious, more precious than anything besides her family and her farm, because they were only pieces of them she'd ever have.

The sequel to The AppleDash Project, but that was episodic you can jump right in! All you need to know is:

Applejack and Rainbow Dash have been together for more than a year now. Their relationship has blossomed through Discord, a changeling army, and a whole hoof full of crazy situations and dumb mistakes. They've managed to form a partnership and learned to work out their problems together, not an easy lesson for two tough, stubborn ponies.

But now Rainbow Dash is convinced that their lives are getting boring, and if there's one thing Dash doesn't like, it's boring. So Dash has set out to make her relationship with Applejack more interesting. . . and AJ's not so sure she likes that sound of that.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash went to Twilight Sparkle with a simple question: Could she make a spell that would allow them to have a foal together? After a year of magical research, Twilight thinks that she's done just that. But the spell is not without potential side effects, and AJ and Dash have to decide if they're ready to be part of a magical experiment that could give them a foal of their own, or cost Applejack her life.

Rarity's search for gemstones leads her to Sweet Apple Acres, and Applejack has no problem guiding her around the orchard. But when a freak storm strikes, the two ponies must race against the tempest to find shelter.

As the storm rages overhead, Applejack wrestles with the growing unrest within her heart regarding Rarity. And as events unfold, Rarity is forced to examine her own opinions and feelings towards her best friend.

Applejack and Fluttershy have never been particularly close; in all honesty they're more like acquaintances with mutual friends than actual friends with each other.
But when Winona is injured Fluttershy is the only one who can help, and as Applejack tries to pay back the debt she feels she owes the pegasus for her kindness they both discover that there might be more to each other, and their own feelings, than they realized.

You'd be surprised by how much can happen in nine days. Breaking your back on a regular basis to save your family's livelihood, falling in love only to have your heart trampled, and fighting an evil robot that threatens to destroy Equestria are just a few of those things. Never mind the fact that Ponyville is facing racial disharmony due to a Pegasus-led workers' strike at the weather factory in Cloudsdale, and Celestia can't be bothered to interfere when she's dealing with another crisis altogether. Meanwhile, Applejack wants nothing more than to stay relatively removed from the madness, but everypony knows that's never how it actually plays out.

After running Trixie out of town for being all talk, one last act of spite threatens to turn Twilight's life upside down. She calls upon the only pony she knows may be able to help restore her faith in pony-kind and her faith in herself.
A journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step, as Applejack and Twilight begin a trek to rescind Trixie's revenge, and save Twilight's Ponyville home.

A single act of carelessness ignites the demise of Carousel Boutique, but an act of generosity between friends sparks the beginning of something much, much more: an existential crisis, for one. Melodramatically Rarijack.

This is the final in the set of fics I published on deviantART a year ago.

It's AppleShy. One day, Fluttershy's friends all seem to dig into her and unload the pressure, causing a bit of a panic in the meek pegasus. Only Applejack seems ready to listen to her and let her go at her own pace, while encouraging her to stand up stronger.

Pretty straightforward shipping story, but the final chapter takes a more adventurous turn.
