When the Great War ended, Equestria was crushed. Harmony was well and truly broken, Changelings had fought for every inch of Equs, a continent they now owned with no rivals. But the stories of the Great War have remained untold, with a lul in global events, beings are now starting to ask exactly what happened.

Sent from Longsword by Grover the VI himself, I have interviewed those who fought and suffered in the war, in a vain attempt to set down the first piece if a global effort to uncover the mysteries of the Unsung War.

(Set in the Equestria at war Universe)

This story takes place within the universe of Equestria at War, and is inspired by the Pink Floyd album, The Wall.

1023. Ten years from the fall of Canterlot, and just one year from the decennial of the Changeling occupation of Equestria.

Tyrant, fool, supremacist -- the Worm. The pony that rebuilds from the rot of Equestria, bringing an ideology that was scoffed at in the Equestria of old.

But Equestria is not the same anymore. Years of Changeling occupation has embittered the ponies, and their strict rule and strange demands have safely put an end to the Harmonic experiment.

Stop Light is just one pony offering solutions for a new world amongst many, but after such catastrophe and loss, the ever-militant worms are seeming more and more necessary. Sure, it's not ideal, but friendship's hard when you're staring into the barrel of a rifle. Besides, he asks the question nobody else is willing to:

A war started over tension among the color countries, Blue and Red fought many war against each other, Red won some wars, Blue won some. After the assassination of King Blue, the two countries are going at war, both sides have strong allies. Equestria and Sky Blue stayed neutral. Sky Blue have no interest in supplying the warring nations or joining the war. Who will win this war?

(The story is set in Equestria at War universe)

Ponies are becoming desperate and the future looks more and more dire with each passing day. Rainbow Dash, the wonderbolts ace pilot who fought for Equestria for over a year since the changeling invasion, gets a chance to forget all of it for at least one special day, a Hearth's Warming day. Wishing to spend it with someone very important, her childhood friend- Fluttershy

In 1011 ALB, the Changelings attacked, flooding across the border. Town after town fell, Harmony fell to its lowest point. Seeing his opportunity, Sinister Serov, leader of Stalliongrad, attacked Equestria. Within a year, Equestria had fallen to the joint Changeling-Stalliongradian invasion. The nation was split between the two powers.

Most international observers believed the Changelings would continue, conquering the rest of Equus. Sure enough, the war resumed in 1013. However, to the surprise of many, the new Socialist Republic of Equestria prevailed. The Equestrians believed the SRE to be a more tolerable option compared to the Changelings. This cooperation allowed Sinister to rally the population against their common enemy.

By 1017, the war was over.

The new government has won the good will of many, but the nation is not devoted to the ideals of Socialism. It has yet to be seen whether Equestrian Socialism will prevail in peace as it has in war.

This will be a series of short stories of the fragile peace that follows.

It is the morning of a bright summer day and a griffon is cooking breakfast in his quaint house out in the woods. Outside, he can hear the sweet singing of the small birds and the sounds of the forests as well as the faint humming of a griffoness waiting in the living room. But for him the loudest sound that day, among all, is the thumping of his own heart beating against his chest...

Yes, this has two endings. Takes place in the Equestria at War universe but prior knowledge isn't really required.

Ost-Griffionia has long been the crossroads where Griffon and Equine kind have met. To the west, the heartland of the once might Griffionian Empire. To the east, the Riverlands, bastion of ponykind on Griffionia.

Here, the plains, forests and swamped are marked by ancient battlefields. Here, history is written in blood, forged in brutal crusades and border raids. Here, two kinds have fought for hundreds of years. Animosity is deeply ingrained in both cultures.

In Longsword, the worst consequences of this long, terrible history are being played out. Ponies treated little better than animals and Griffons reviled as killers and monsters. The whole tragic affair is no doubt soon to escalate and worsen, dragging everyone into an even messier whirlwind.

Yet, even as the country stands at precipice, the good of creatures can still shine through, illuminated under the glowing blue light of the pale moon.

A fell power has risen on Equus, and many refugees have fled its clutches across the ocean to Aris, which now stands as the last beacon of Harmony in a world beset by war. Amidst this chaos, a reporter comes to the Royal Palace in Mount Aris to meet one of these exiles, and tell her story to the world.

You can see this as a sequel to Turning Over A New Loaf, since it takes place in the same timeline, but these stories can be read separately.

The Griffonian Empire groans…

It is March of 1007, and Grover V, emperor of all* griffons, has breathed his last. His empire is broken after secessions and a devastating revolution, his power stolen by schemers in his court, and his only son underage. A regency council, made up of the nobles and clergy of the empire, is being assembled to rule in the stead of four-year-old Grover VI.

Ferdinand Dawnclaw, like many others within the empire, remembers how the last regency went down. Unlike many others, he doesn’t intend to let history repeat itself.

The worldbuilding, and several persons in the story (including Dawnclaw) are credited to the dev team of Equestria at War, the MLP Hearts of Iron 4 mod.
This story generally adheres to the “canon”, but I have tweaked certain events, added original characters, and maybe slightly tweaked Dawnclaw’s character. This is all done to create a good story, not because the source material is terrible.
