After Twilight became an alicorn, it seemed as though her entire personality was a bit off. Twilights behavior towards him was really weighing down on Spike, and his growth spurt just a few years ago didn't help with his romance/social life. With so little time to himself, and finding that his life wasn't going to go anywhere in Ponyville, Spike flew off towards the badlands to find his future. Though he left without saying a word, he did leave a note promising he would be back in a few years. While living out his life in the badlands, somedragon ends up opening his life to a whole new world...

First fanfiction ever, and this is just a Spike scenario that has been bugging me for the past month or two. And if you can't tell by what the description and title give you, then let it be known that this is a spike x dragoness fic.

As the story progresses, many other of the spike fiction authors might find tiny references to their stories... one of which is in the prologue.

After a tragic accident claims the lives of Fluttershy and Big Macintosh, Twilight Sparkle begins to grow distant from her remaining friends. She locks herself in her castle and spends her life working on a cure for aging in the hopes her remaining friends can be saved.

Meanwhile, Pinkie Pie comes up with an idea for the best surprise ever. For three years she works in secret on a surprise for Twilight Sparkle. But Twilight's gift won't be revealed until the last of her friends has passed away.

What kind of surprise could possibly make up for the loss of your best friends?

Happy Hearth's Warming Eve, everypony! Ponyville is setting up for quite the holiday this year. Snow, presents, and friendship... and of course the founding of Equestria. Spike already has presents to give to his friends, including Twilight. But just when he was about to present them, his friends were acting quite odd around him. No, it's not a spell! With his friends seem to be too busy with the decorating of Ponyville, Spike begins to feel unappreciated. After causing a simple mistake during the decorating process, Spike gets berated and feels completely rejected by everyone including his friends. Spike then wishes what life in Equestria would be like if he was never born. And soon enough he discovers something so powerful than just gifts in warping paper.

*This story is highly inspired by the heart-warming Christmas movie "It's a Wonderful Life" so expect to have many feels in this experience.*

In the past few weeks since Twilight has started dating, Spike has found himself spending more and more time alone in the castle. Normally he would be willing to put up with his own loneliness, in exchange for her happiness, but when the dark of the night comes around, he can't help but wonder if he really is alone.

The little Filly tells Spike to go away so she can die. Spike doesn't leave her. The filly soon tells Spike her name is Permafrost. Spike decides to take her to Twilight and on the way Permafrost tells Spike about how she ended up there in the first place.

Twilight Sparkle receives a interesting letter from someone who refers to themselves as Secret Admirer. But this story isn't about her.

It's about the very first letter and the letters that come after that.
