Lance Gleam, the son of Princess Twilight and Comet Tail suggests a trip to the Everfree to his friends in order to prove himself to the Royal Guard in order to join them, but it takes the motivation given by Spectrum Streak, daughter of Rainbow Dash and Thunderlane, a trainee Wonderbolt to get them involved. Will the pair understand their feelings for one another and achieve their intertwined dreams, or will the Prince's dreams shatter?

The New Lunar Republic are fighting back against the Solar Empire, secretly and evasive. The fight between who should be the true leader of Equestria is causing an uproar from civilians. Anthea is blind. Turquoise Blitz is half-dragon, half-pony. Naturally, the two are drawn to each other, though the fact that their mothers are also best friends may have played a helping hoof as well. With most of their lives spent together, either with the rest of their group of friends or on their own, it makes sense that they would fall in love. With Turquoise's quiet personality and Anthea's unfortunate condition, it makes even more sense that nothing would happen for a long time, despite practically everypony in town believing them to already be a couple.

Then, one long time later, the two decided to stay out late and go stargazing.

You know, when I was younger, my dad used to tell me stories. Stories of a happier time. A time when there was only one pony nation on Equus. A nation that lived in peace and harmony. Where the land itself seemed to exude happiness. Where the great sisters ruled together to keep their ponies happy and safe. Where the only thing dividing ponies where horns or wings. But I suppose thats all they were. Just stories.

When there's a problem with the royal sisters, somepony usually has to explain it to The Captain of the guard, Shining Armour.
How in Equestria do they decide which pony gets to take on this unenviable duty?
It's an ancient art, passed down from the senior ranks, taking years to master. Something no normal pony could ever hope to match and only the extraordinary ponies of the royal guard could possibly hope to pull off with rigour and discipline.
