//------------------------------// // A Slow Start - Part 1 // Story: New Lunar Republic - Uprising // by Anubis Nox //------------------------------// "T'was a stressful day today Tia." Luna stated tired from all of the meetings she had with her sister. She normally didn't wake up until Night, but she had to wake up early afternoon for some 'emergency' meetings. She was hoping for a nice early mornings sleep, but she knew that would never happened, because her sister was to 'perfect' to raise the sun a little earlier. She always had to be on time, and never at all fun. Just like before Luna was banished. Anyway, it didn't really bother her as she was used to sleepless 'nights', and being the Princess of the Night and all. "Yes, it was Lulu,", Celestia said using her younger sister's nickname. "But we have most of them done now, and I'm sorry for waking you so early to help with the meetings. It's strange why they were reporting ponies for apparent rebellion. None of my guards have reported anything, but now the civilians are. Luna have your guards reported anything of the sorts? "It is alright Tia and no my guards have not reported any activity of that and I would love to stay and talk about the topic, but I best be going off to rise my moon," Luna informed, breaking her old language 'habit', whilst hugging Celestia then walking off towards her tower quickly whilst saying, "Have a good night sister." Celestia just acknowledged her goodbye and replied with her own usual goodnight and a little bit suspicious over her behaviour but decided to ignore it and went of to her royal chambers to lower the sun, while Luna went off to her tower to perform the raising of the moon. "We need to immbolize them NOW!" General Ironblood claimed, while slamming down his hoof at the word NOW. "We shouldn't strike yet, we need to have more influenced civilians before we can act." General Lingua said still in her calm demeanour, but with a bit of agitation in her voice. Her wings were flaring up a bit from the rage that was inside her at the moment, but she controlled what she portrayed on the outside "Well I think we should strike, but not straight away, more with stealth and a slow uprising," General Nightstalker added to the meetings argument, he always thought strike the enemy from within and watch them suffer would work, well he was a master of stealth. "Also I sense something with us." "Well how about we listen to me," An authority infested voice came in from all sides of their secured walls atop of Luna's castle. "Well done Nightstalker, but I could HAVE easily killed you by now." "Princess Luna!" The two other Generals yelled in unison from the shock and realisation, before the two of them bowed. "You may rise." They all rised on her order before she realised that General Nightstalker was still sitting at the desk, on his cushion. All of a sudden, a voice appeared directly behind her as the pony at the desk evaporated. The voice behind her said, "I could HAVE easily killed you by now." "Yes you could've if I was really there." Princess Luna stated before evaporating and hitting Nightstalker in the back of his head causing him to fall forwards from the impact. He managed to roll forward carefully letting his horn avoid hitting the floor and landed back up upon his hooves. "Ah, as stealthy as always Princess." Nightstalker said whilst bowing. The Princess just smiled and said, "Our planning shall commence now." Before walking back to sit at the table with her Generals following her. "While Lingua has the right approach to the situation at hoof, Ironblood is correct of what needs to be done now. My hatred for my sister is still growing furthermore than what it used to be, of course I will not turn back into Nightmare Moon but stay in this form. I can NEVER EVER FORGIVE HER for sending me to the moon for 1000 years," Luna explained getting teary at being sent to the moon, "It is so lonely and desolate..... there is no pony there, the loneliness.... there is nothing to do but plan and think. I planned for my revenge and when I was defeated when I came back I had to....... I had to ask for forgiveness or be sent back to the moon... again. As you already know this, we must act soon as we can while influencing more members secretly, my sister Celestia is getting suspicious from reports of civilians being 'influenced'" Luna spat the word sister like it was the worst word to ever be created. "Then there was the fact that started my hatred and jealousy, the fact that no one would admire my beautiful night sky, the fact of all the hard work that I put into it and then for the ponies just to fall asleep during it, it is a waste of time." She concluded her speech before looking towards each of her Generals. "Well, what should we do Princess?" Nightstalker asked. "No need for formalities here Generals, you guys are the only real friends I've ever had, and I believe I have a plan." Luna informed while learning forward to share the plan. "Hmm that may work Ironblood, but I'm afraid I have to let Nightstalker initialise the first strike in his pegasus form. This mission requires stealth and to get in there do his job and get out fast, not allowing Celestia to believe that it was us who committed this crime." "Fine Luna, but if she finds out that we are doing this we are going about it my way, ok?" Ironblood asked stated in a rhetorical question, he was angry because he was rarely used in missions due to his straightforward attitude and easiness to get the New Lunar Republic's cover blown. "If we get caught out we will get Lingua to try to deceive our way out of this and if that fails then we will resort to you , Ironblood." She looked at Ironblood who just mumbled under his breath then nodded his head, the looked to the other two Generals who nodded their head as well. "Then it is agreed, for the New Lunar Republic, Nightstalker you shall start the assassination tomorrow at twilght this. Either send your best assassins or do it yourself, do what you feel like but do it well. We do not want to be caught this early in our uprising, but if we do we will have a hard time fighting this battle. For the New Lunar Republic." "For the New Lunar Republic." The Generals said with conviction, but not too loud that everyone could here it. "You are all dismissed, and I ask that you prepare for an upcoming battle that may be placed if this mission fails. Good luck Nightstalker with your mission." With the final thing said from Luna she walked out of the room, leaving the Generals to discuss the oncoming events. A/N: Next three chapters will be short chapters each with information on the three Generals.
