Whenever somepony would ask, Derpy always said that Dinky was hers. Some would always question that, saying that she herself was too young to have a filly Dinky's age. But still, Derpy always said that Dinky was her's and no other ponies. But while the statement always was the truth. It hid a dark and terrible secret.
One that almost cost a baby filly her life, if not for a wall-eyed young mare.

Found this comic and it caused so much feels that a story popped up in my head that I had to write.

Dinky was too young at the time it happened, now older she could not remember his voice, his feel or even his warmth, all these things many children take forgranted about their parents and it takes one to not know them to see just how lucky those children are. Dinky only knew how her dad looked from pictures and how he acted from stories.
She missed him a lot and one night after Derpy retold her a story about her dad and Derpy she finds herself unable to stop thinking about him, about the parent she had lost before even knowing them.

Dinky wakes up, but her mother isn't there. She wants to be with her mother and knows she belongs with her, no matter what anypony else says.

Derpy is unable to find a reason to go on without her Dinky Muffin. What point is there in living when the one thing worth living for is gone?

Derpy thought that everything would be better with Glittering Gem in jail and Dinky in her permanent custody. But things are never that simple, as Derpy now has to balance taking care of a foal and finishing school. Lets just hope that thats all she has to worry about.
