With newfound confidence in both herself and her magic, Twilight decides to take a bit of a late-night stroll outside of Ponyville in the wake of the Ursa Minor incident. But when she does, she finds, to her shock, that a certain mare has not made quite as much of an exit from the town as she first suspected.

During her studies in the Canterlot archives, Twilight Sparkle makes a startling discovery - Star Swirl the Bearded, the most famous unicorn in Equestrian history, had a son! Tracing the family line down the centuries, Twilight is ecstatic to discover a direct descendant of Star Swirl is still living today. She sets out to meet this "Beatrix Lulamoon", who surely is a great and powerful unicorn worthy of her heritage with a wealth of ancestral knowledge to share... isn't she?

Days after Tirek's near-takeover of Equestria, The Great And Powerful Trixie travels to Ponyville, intent on settling her rivalry with Twilight Sparkle once and for all. No trinkets to fudge her abilities, no megalomania to apologize for -- just pure and simple magician's honor!

Upon her arrival, however, she quickly learns that the information she has on Ponyville -- and Twilight -- is more than a little dated.

On a trip to Canterlot to attend to some royal business, Twilight Sparkle learns more about kindness and forgiveness than she expected. Contemplation, melancholy, and a richly detailed world. An oldie-but-goodie from the early days of the community; please note that this has not been updated to reflect subsequent character development from Season 2.

Whilst Magic Duel ended better than I thought it would (thank Celestia Trixie was not turned into a full-time villain), I felt that the ending was lacking two things:

1) Twilight knew that Trixie was having rough times, but did not offer a friendly hoof towards Trixie. Isn't Twilight supposed to be learning the wonderous magic of friendship?

2) No Pinkie party for Trixie? Yes, Pinkie seemed a little more aggressive towards Trixie than she usually is, but she offered Gilda a party, so why not Trixie?

Granted the ep only had 22 minutes to fill, but still... So, yeah, this is sort of an extended ending dealy for Magic Duel. I may also make some new Trixie stories using this a base, after some of my current stories are done.

Years after her humiliating fiasco in Ponyville, a pacified Trixie returns to try and find closure with the ponies she hurt the most. But time has wiped the slate clean in more than one way, leaving the showpony forgotten, nothing more than a fading memory in the minds of the townsfolk. Will a mare who devoted her whole life to being remembered find solace in the vastness of her impact? Or will the loss of her hallowed image tear her apart?
