Princess Luna decides that the Sisterhooves Social is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality bonding time with Princess Celestia. Do Sweetie Belle and Applebloom stand a chance or do the princesses of Equestria have this competition in the bag?
When Luna asked Twilight for help adapting to the modern Equestrian language, Twilight was quick to agree. She was happy to call Luna her friend, but royal duties between the both of them typically dictated that their visits were few and far between, and any opportunity to see the Lunar diarch on a less formal basis was okay in her books. Helping Luna understand the convoluted idioms Equestrians love to create seemed like great fun anyway. She just... She hadn't expect Luna to be that out of date. Fortunately, Twilight's not a pony to back away from a challenge, and a vintage bottle of Manehattan Vintage Marelot is all the reinforcement she needs to enjoy giving the lessons and ignore the inevitable headaches to follow.
Originally written for the TwiLuna prompt collab, but I decided to expand it to its own story (also, the collab was dead).
Huge thanks goes out to my awesome proofreader Absolution for putting up with my shit and arguing with me over a lot of things. Even if we ended up not agreeing on most things, those discussions led to a lot of different changes which this story is very much the better for.

This story is a sequel to Love Thy Night
It has been one year since the events of "Love Thy Night" and the annual Starfall is among Twilight Sparkle and Luna. Celebrated only every twenty two years, the event is rare and takes much energy to conjure and do. Luna is determined to make this night one week before their initial anniversary both special and memorable.
This takes place after the events of Starfall! Unaware of whom the original author is over the cover art, but personal cover-art coming soon. Thank you to my beloved editor King of Kings.
Twilight Sparkle is blissfully happy to be dating Princess Luna. But when the ever-clumsy Twilight breaks one of Luna's oldest possessions, Twilight is sure that failing to fix it will spell disaster.
Adventures in taking the TwiLuna contest's prompt (and this story's title) extremely literally. (And this took second place, woot!)
Edited as usual by the amazing Jordanis, with assistance from TheAccidentalBrony.
Dear Diary,
Looking back, a scientific, step-by-step plan is completely ineffective for social situations (Note to self: don't do them, ever). Inviting Princess Luna to a Pinkie Pie Hearth's Warming party, with a checklist of steps in your head, was an awful idea. There are too many variables that a checklist cannot prepare for, such as an entrancing outfit. The plan resulted in a spectacular failure of when awkward meets anxious.
For future use, a spreadsheet might be better.

Princess Luna has been sealed in the moon for a thousand years. Although released, she has been having trouble adjusting to how much the world has changed, along with the loss of everyone she held dear in ancient times. Despite the pleasant end to the last Nightmare Night, she is still uncertain of what her place is now. However, Twilight Sparkle is determined to show Luna that she belongs...on a very special day.
Luna attempts to distract herself from the same frustrations that she once let ruin her life.
