Without prospective parents in the Crystal Empire, she decides to leave the city on her own... and ends up finding out that love, and families, can be found in the strangest places.

Trixie has wings and a horn, but she isn't a princess yet. With Equestria's political situation fragile following the events of Tirek's attack and subsequent defeat, she has to hide her status from everypony. At the same time she has to learn how to control these new powers and try to earn the respect she desires.

Of course this would all be easier if there wasn't someone working against her from the shadows.

You don't need to read The Unchosen One before you read this, but since this is a direct sequel it would be good so you know how and why Trixie got those wings. It would also be good to have seen the ending of season 4. If you haven't yet, don't read the bit above where I mention Tirek. Don't read that last sentence either.

Everything in Chloe's life was going seemingly perfect, she had wonderful friends, a loving family and she was just accepted into Roosevelt University in Chicago where she would continue with her lifelong dream of becoming the world's most renowned cellist.

But fate, sometimes, doesn't always deal you the hand you want...

The Spears of Chaos are a terrorist group who had relished in Discord's chaotic reign over Equestria, and practically worshiped the God of Chaos. But when they learn that Discord is no longer evil, they are disgusted beyond belief. Seeing that Discord is no longer fit to hold the title of God of Chaos, they release their new idol from her stone prison in Canterlot to aid them in plunging Equestria into eternal anarchy. After all, who better fit the bill than Screwball, who happened to be Discord's spawn.
