Looking For Positive Stories · 4:40am Feb 13th, 2017

Hey guys. A lot has changed on my life recently. I'm almost a new person, and I am happy! I am truly happy. I see a lot of unhappy people in my day-to-day, and I want to help in at least a small way.

I am starting a project I am simply calling "Helping Hand". It will start with a Youtube channel. It will be non monetized, and I never plan to see a penny from it. The entire pi t is to hopefully bring a few new smiles to the world. I will be playing happy E rated games, reading stories, and promoting good charities. I'll also be encouraging people to share their problems, and I'll give them some kind words to help them work through it.

Now this is where you guys come in. I need some fun, lighthearted, and happy E rated stories to read. I don't want any violence or anything like that. Just the happiest and relaxing stories you can find.

This is a new chapter in my life, and I want it to be a happy one :)

Immediately springing to mind are Yes, Apple Bloom, There Is a Santa Hooves and Dinkin' Donuts. :B

Sound wonderful! I've got a shelf of fics that are show-like and the majority are E-rated. Take a rifle through and see what stands out.

this sounds wonderful

If I may whore my own works, most of my comedy one-shots are meant to be lighthearted and humorous.

I otherwise recommend most anything by Justice3442. Stealing the Deed, Dragon Lord Spike, and CUTIE MARK CRUSADER NECROMANCERS, YAY!, I will personally vouch for having read and loved.

alexmagnet is another good one.

Well, there's DawnFade's Pirates for a Day. "Short, innocent friendshipping" is the author's description, and I can confirm this. It's also glorious.

let me know if you find some good ones! I'm looking for stories like that too!

+1 on what 4420291 said. Those are some of the best, hands down.

I'd also recommend Canon, To The Sun, Funatics, and Dubious Enchantment

And if I may include a couple of my own:
Apple Knots
Friendship 101

I scoured my "Favorites" and "Pretty Good" bookshelves. It seems "happy" stories are not my genre of choice, but I did find a few that might qualify.

The Great Ponyville Snowball Fight
The Brief Reign of Princess Twily
Infallible
Unicorn Horns are Made of Candy
Everypony Cuddles, Sometimes
Young Eyes
First Date

And just for the heck of it, a couple of my own:
Pink
Banned for a Reason
Dinky Doo and the Quest for the Sacred Treats

Well, there's this one Raven. And this one, just off the front page, which revitalizes a few stories with less than positive associations My Little Nyx, etc. etc. etc.

E rated. Hm, that's going to be difficult. There's a *lot* of stuff that goes over the line a little bit. E is normally angled for youth readers, and even my Child of Nightmares and Everfree bumps a little over that line due to (ahem) the natural responses a guard gets when paired with Fluttershy, although the one that came before, City of Monsters, is written completely from a child's point of view and fairly E.

For readings, you need stories that are fairly short and to the point also. Seasonal ones can be a bonus. Since 'Yes, Apple Bloom...' has already been plugged (and I'll second the plug), I'll suggest my Yes, Twilight Sparkle, There is a Santa Hooves, which already has a reading by Neighrator Pony.

Also, Bad Horse's Bedtime Stories for Impressionable Young Colts and Fillies is fantastic young/old material, with readings of the first three chapters, plus an amazing video.

(Let's see, E rated, E rated. There's got to be some in here.)
Thou Shalt Not Eat Of The Tree is *close* to being E rated, except it somewhat implies what Adam and Eve were up to during the week.

Drifting Down the Lazy River is my best E rated child story, so that's what I'd ultimately push.

Of my own stories, "The Gift that Keeps on Giving" and "Let a Smile be Your Umbrella" are uplifting, and "A Hiccup in Time" is funny, if you're looking for that. Heck, if you want funny, look at just about anything by Blueshift tagged as comedy. "The Truth About Myths and Legends" is cute. I thought "So Her Legacy Will Endure" had a great positive outlook. "True Bowmance" is a fun story. Lucky Dreams writes wonderful children's-style stories, though they may be a bit more serious than what you'e looking for.
