Nightmare Moon may be reveling in her triumph over the Nyx and her newfound influence over ponies' dreams, but she is far from completing her goal of spreading eternal nightmares to all of Equestria, and far from completing her banishment of a thousand years upon the moon. Still, the Nyx resist her in their own ways for now...and back on earth, Celestia still has hope for the safe return one day of her little sister.

And, meanwhile, Nightmare Moon experiences her own bouts of distress. Sometimes strange 'nightmares' plague her--nightmares of love and redemption and the pony princess who she used to be. They don't come often, but whenever they do a strange confusion overtakes her. Slowly the years pass, and her confusion grows...until the thousandth year when, signaled by the bright light of her banishment's final full moon, everything the princess of the night ever was is finally set free to return to Equestria again.

"It was, perhaps, his greatest failure ever." As a very young Starswirl the Bearded pens these final words in his journal, he finds himself alone in his study with the magic mirror now housing the banished Sirens. Starswirl knows that no one could blame him for ridding Equestria of three such relentless menaces...yet he blames himself just the same. He understands now that is a better kind of magic he must come to understand, especially if he wants to succeed at training his two young princess charges to lead Equestria with loyalty and generosity and laughter and honesty and kindness.

Meanwhile, in the realm of 'humans', the Sirens struggle with the changes their banishment has brought, but also vow to return to Equestria and rise again...however fearful each of them may truly be that they will never see home again.

Years later, an aged Starswirl realizes that he cannot end all of the pain the Sirens bring to others and themselves...and so he prepares a certain princess of the sun for the day when someone will come along who will perfect the study of the Magic of Friendship in ways he never could.

King Vorak may think his punishment of Tirek and imprisonment of Sendak is the end of his son's dark pursuits...but Tirek realizes that his first experience with Equestrian magic is only the beginning. As Sombra pens the final words in his diary, the pony sisters descend upon the kingdom, and the shadow king prepares to meet them. Ascending to the throne room from his study, Sombra reflects on his plans, his feelings now, and the final fear he shall instill in the crystal ponies that will endure in them for a thousand years and beyond!

The thousand years passes, Sombra is defeated, and whatever is left of the shadow king reflects on his fall at the hooves of Twilight and others while he waits...and waits...and waits...for the inevitable defeat of light by darkness.

And back in the past, just after the Crystal Empire's banishment, Celestia and Luna tearfully try to come to terms with Sombra's curse and how the news will affect Radiant Hope. Luna in particular does her best to make sense of the madness.

A short, sweet, somewhat fluffy, Celestiacord story based entirely on the season 5 animatic we saw recently :)

"Announcing, The Smooze!"

Yes, the season 5 animatic clip showed us that there will be a Smooze episode! And it also interestingly showed us that there will be a dance/gala episode coming up...and that Discord will be there in a tux and top hat (cue fangirling)...and that Celestia seems pretty happy to see him when he shows up This story is one little potential scenario for how Celestia and Discord's interactions together might go based on reading a lot into that look Celestia gives Discord when he walks in, the flowers from season 4 (of course), and the fact that I just think these two are such a compatible couple Enjoy, and thank you for reading!

We're so close to season 5! I don't know about you, but I'm going stir crazy!

Between when the girls flew up in a ball of rainbow magic to defeat Tirek and when they landed back in Ponyville at Twilight's new castle, Discord and Spike were just left on the sidelines at the Harmony Tree and didn't show up again until they popped out from behind Celestia, Luna and Cadance later back in Ponyville. This story explores what might have happened during that time gap, and especially how Discord's first contact with the princesses following his betrayal might have gone (spoiler: it's a teeny bit tense ).

Also explored is one random potential theory for Discord's unexpected compulsion to give Celestia flowers and wink at her in the middle of a throne room full of onlooking ponies. This theory happens to involve Cadance and demonstrates once and for all that the magic of love is not to be taken lightly.

Luna is the Princess of the Night, which is normally a job she loves...except on Hearts and Hooves Day night. Naturally, that is an evening of private nocturnal events and dreams for most ponies, and so Luna must put in overtime to make sure she assists her subjects without crossing any bounds, causing any awkwardness, or putting herself anyplace she isn't wanted.

Fortunately, Luna can at least take a break this evening to go to her favorite twenty-four hour bakery, Donut Joe's. Donut Joe is always there, no matter how late the hour, with a smile on his face, a mug of coffee for her in one hoof, and a plate of donuts for her in the other. And Luna is always happy to take a seat at the counter and talk with her new friend.

Meanwhile Donut Joe has had a special appreciation for his best night customer ever since her return over a year ago. He has always found something beautiful in the nights...and now he has found something familiar and comforting and special in Princess Luna.

Perhaps on this most romantic of evenings, a little something will come along to give these two a nudge toward each other.

(That little something ends up involving Discord, Celestia, love 'poison', and a party in Las Pegasus, by the way.)

Directly following the events of “Keep Calm and Flutter On” Discord and Celestia call each other out on these little ‘disclaimers’ and try to explain their words while still maintaining their new friendship. They soon agree on some interesting conditions for Discord’s recent reform, leading to the castle, some Royal Canterlot Voice from Luna, cake, and an interesting night and morning as Discord figures out how to relate to his former princess foes in a much less evil (if as obnoxious as ever) sort of way. He especially enjoys his new ‘friendly’ way of bothering Celestia.

Later, following Tirek’s defeat (and Discord’s final reform), the chaos master and the sun princess assess how their friendship has gone and where it might go from here. Luna throws in her two bits as well. Naturally, cake is eaten. And, of course, no matter how reformed he may become, Discord ‘loves’ teasing Celestia as much as ever…and it’s sort of grown on Celestia too.

(Rated Teen really only because of some suggestiveness, and I just want to err on the side of caution :) )

Just a fluffy, amusing little two-part one shot about Discord visiting the Princesses following his betrayal and subsequent final reform in favor of the magic of friendship. I've always thought there was potential there for a really close relationship between those three considering their long history, and that it would be comforting to Twilight now that Discord's fully reformed to see him reconnecting with his 'old friends.' Friendship really is the focus of this story, though there's a tiny bit of romantic humor from Discord too just because I couldn't help myself (and I don't think he'd be able to help himself either) XD I hope you enjoy!

Note: Story takes place between seasons 4 and 5 (and was drafted prior to knowledge of "Make New Friends but Keep Discord".)

Discord’s miffed that Princess Celestia doesn’t seem to have extended him a ticket to the Gala—he thought they were friends! (Though maybe he understands a little, considering his recent betrayal, even if he did make things right in the end). However, when she shows up to not only give him his ticket in person but to ask him to be her personal escort for the evening, Discord is surprised (and then smugly satisfied) to say the least…that is until Rarity decides that Celestia’s invitation was clearly her asking Discord out on a date.

Discord dismisses the idea however as he has plenty of other things on his mind at the moment—ponies at the Gala will certainly be talking about Tirek, and how can he face their questions when guilt about what he did is bothering him so much that he can’t even talk about his mistake with his friends? And what is he supposed to do now with his life since he’s finally fully reformed?

Pretty soon Discord’s worries spill over into his dreams—many random dreams…and many random dreams specifically about Celestia. What is his subconscious trying to tell him? And why does Celestia keep trying to get closer to him? It’s all leading up to the most chaotic night ever when Discord will show up at the Gala arm in arm with Celestia and ready to face the world as the ‘REFORMED reformed’ Discord!
