This story is a sequel to The Crystal and the Mirage

Though she's still reeling from the discovery that she's part dragon (on her mother's side), Rarity won't let that stop her from making life-changing decisions.

Spike won't know what hit him.

Edited by SNAF and Georg.

Winner of the Sparity 2018 contest.

Chapters (2)

Rarity has feelings for a certain dragon, and she isn't sure how to feel about that. Word from the family grapevine is that her old Grandpa Merc might have something to say on the issue, so she seeks him out.

It turns out he has a story to tell her. A love story of sorts. A very old one.

Editing by SirNotAppearingInThisFic and Georg.

Some dragon lore borrowed from D&D.

Chapters (1)

A Discworld crossover.

This is a collection of vignettes featuring ponies, gryphons, and other Equestrians who have been copypasted from Equestria to the Disc, and how they and the City of Ankh-Morpork interact.

Chapters (3)

This story is a sequel to Monster Hunter: Equestria

A collection of side-stories for Monster Hunter: Equestria. Members of Her Highness's Hunters meet at Berry's Bar to swap stories over drinks, so you can get to know them better.

Chronology with respect to the main story is somewhat fuzzy, but each chapter's general location in time will be stated in the author's notes.

Chapters (1)

Dragons, as a rule, are not subtle creatures.

Dragonlord Ember is far from a typical dragon.

Garble wishes he had a sane dragon for a Dragonlord, instead of some Cunning Optimist who's going to get them all killed.

Change is coming to dragonkind, one way or another.

Received an Honorable Mention in FanOfMostEverything's Imposing Sovereigns Contest. (It was in the "Ember the Mad" slot.)

Chapters (4)

My name is Derpy Hooves. Up until recently, I was just your almost typical local mailmare. Accidents tended to happen around me a lot, but everypony has to have something that's a little off, right? Things changed a bit when my ex-husband turned into a vampire and tried to kill me. Now I hunt down monsters for a living so that your average pony can continue to ignore their existence.

Monster hunting is dangerous work, but satisfying. From what I've been hearing from my new friends, though, a lot of the monsters we've been fighting lately have been—different. They've been more organized, for starters, and their attacks seem to have some larger goal in mind...

Rated T and tagged for gore and darkness because there will be many fight scenes, and you should expect them to get messy. Nothing too gratuitous, though.

Based loosely on Larry Correia's Monster Hunter: International. No familiarity with it is required for reading, but this work should be similar to it in spirit.

Editing and prereading by SirNotAppearingInThisFic, cogwheelbrain, FanOfMostEverything, and Doc Crowl

This story is a sequel to Tastes Like Heresy

It's said that time heals all wounds. Sometimes it takes a bit more than that, though.

Amber Spice used to have everything she thought she wanted. She had loving parents, a posh upper crust lifestyle, and her dream job as Royal Chef to the King of Unicornia. Or at least she did before she got herself banished to the Pegasopian Desert on charges of heresy. Now she's been stripped of everything she has ever loved, except for her dream to return home with a feat of culinary mastery so awe-inspiring that they just have to let her back in. Hopefully the legends about the pegasi exaggerated their taste for unicorn flesh...

Horizon, a pegasus vanguard of his caravan, has lost something important as well. Many ponies out in the great desert have. Some ponies lost their sister. Others lost their favorite storyteller. Horizon? He lost his fiancee, and nothing's ever been able to fill that hole in his heart. He can still do his job, but that's about all he finds he can do anymore. Time alone hasn't done enough to heal this stallion, but maybe something completely out of the blue will help. A fresh perspective can work wonders on one's outlook, after all.

The world has broken these ponies, but together they may yet rise again.

Or: How to Fry Your Career in Eight Easy Steps
(Featured on Equestria Daily 1/8/13)

I'm Amber Spice, and I was Royal Chef to his royal highness Lanthanum, King of Unicornia. Was.

Now I've somehow gotten myself banished from the land, perhaps forever. Now how did I manage that, you may ask? Let's look back and see. I can't exactly sleep, so this isn't a bad way to spend my last night here.

Turns out a little bit of soul-crushing boredom, a tenacious and chaotically creative mind, and a tangent to launch off of form a dangerous recipe together.

And the result tastes like heresy.

Praise for Tastes Like Heresy:

"...very well-written. It's clever, silly, and perhaps even a bit anarchic." — Ottermatt of WRITE
"It is all very well thought out, yet feels organic instead of rigidly planned..." — Soge
"This is how original characters should be done." — Shahrazad of The Equestrian Critics Society
"Shut up and take my bits!" — SIGAWESOME

Now has its own Tropes Page.

Welcome to my cryopod bank! This is the place where I store story ideas that compelled me to write at least a snippet of them, but haven't forced me to fill them out into full-fledged stories in their own rights.

If enough people decide they like one of the stories, or if a fey mood inspires me to expand upon one, that story will disappear from this anthology and become its own story post.

A blurb for each story appears in the author's notes at the top.
