Spike's dating life, though uneventful, takes a blow after saving Fluttershy's life. Why? Because she's threatening every mare he comes into contact with! The issue is Spike doesn't like her back, and Rarity's becoming concerned.

Will Spike be able to survive Fluttershy's craziness? Will his recent injury allows him to finally score the mare of his dreams, Rarity? Will the insanity and absurdity of it all render Spike with a conclusion different from what he was expecting?

Spike wakes up every day to a nagging roommate. His days are spent doing chores he neither likes nor dislikes. And, to make matters worse, Rarity's heart is still as distant as ever.

So he stops caring for a day.

Watching someone snap is exciting to watch—especially from afar.

To Rainbow, it's like witnessing someone forget about their fears, and do whatever it is they have to do. To Rarity, it's like expressing herself in the most distasteful way possible.

And to Spike, well, he's too scared to snap in fear of destroying the town. Again.

Spike is sacrificing every second he can to sleeping—not because he is lazy, but so he may be with his love: Princess Luna. Unable to expose their affection to the world, they hide it within a dreamscape. But they crave more. Will the dream end?

Spike, it's been a while, but where exactly have you been?

There's no point to this.

Spike has been the loyal protector of Twilight, through pen and blade, but when she sends him on a mission too dangerous even for him, he returns missing an arm. Twilight must come to realize what she truly feels for her dragon.

Twilight is desperate for love—and that desperation dooms her chances for it.

Hence The Love Protocols. Rules set in place to stop her feelings from making a mistake. Desperate enough to nearly date anyone, she needs the rules in place from getting with the wrong pony—or messing things up with the right one. 

Spike assures Twilight she's not so shallow and that, given dating experience, her tastes would narrow. Yet she requests his aid in finding love at a bar. 

How will our wingman fare in helping Twilight find somepony to love?
