You said it was never specified that Nightshade was the one behind the destruction of the Firefly Changelings, but he did in fact say that they went extinct when he was a pupa, so you really didn't even need to mention the two together at all, really.

I feel sad now that the story is finished...

Really good storie, I would really like to see a sequel, and see the King step down.

This makes me wonder if there will indeed be a sequel.

This was a very good read. Personally I didn't see the 'Complete' tag when I started it and leading up to the invasion I kept thinking that Chrysalis would get captured and the next part of the story would be Alex getting into different situations trying find out where the ponies are keeping her. Then this ending came along and made me both happy and sad. Happy because it's a good ending. Sad because it doesn't look like you're continuing the story. Oh well, I'll fave and like anyway.
