Applebloom has grown up raised by her sister, brother and granny. She knew her parents passed away shortly after she was born but she never gave it much thought, until now.
After the apple family reunion she asks AJ for the story.

Quite nice.
I find the subject of the fate of the missing Apples to be endearing, and a cannon appearance (and names) in a flash back not dealing with *that* would be nice. 
I find some of these 'Fallen Apple' tales to be some of the better reads on FiMFiction really. I like your making the connection to the Oranges of Manehatten. I did likewise in Mac's Tale, even almost using the name Orange Blossom
. I used Orange Bloom instead too make a more personal connection, with Apple Bloom literally being named after her mother. Give it a read if you care to, I like getting different perspectives on the 'unspeakable by Hasbro' 
fate of the parents and the effect on Mac, AJ, and Bloom.
Oh, and I love the Cover Art!

This was a beautiful and touching story. Since we'll probably never get a canon version on the show, this would make as good a fanon version of what happened as any. Thank you!
I really enjoyed this story and your take on the missing Apple parents. With the way it went, though, I would like to see a sequel. Probably a follow-up involving it being Sweetie Belle's birthday and having Magnum and Pearl deal with confronting Apple Bloom on the anniversary of her parents' deaths. I don't think Apple Bloom would think much of it, but it seems that Magnum and Pearl might have some feelings of guilt associated with the date. It's all up to you though.
