It's usually smaller engines or vertical boiler engines, given those can be run on basically any fuel (a Sentinel locomotive was once succesfully run using only refuse instead of coal).
Frosty is also often thought of in the UK, given he is ingrained into Christmas culture. Christmas without Frosty the Snowman is like Coca Cola adverts without Santa wearing red; it's not conceivable to many.
As noted in the AN, I felt Snow Pun Intended accidentally became rather mean-spirited; Posey is not the nicest of ponies, but forcing folks to do stuff when they clearly don't enjoy it is hardly making the Mane 5 look good.
Rebecca is fitted with a Stanier wedge plough rather than a grater design, as the former is easier to find.

That is pretty much why I don't like the episode that much. It's still good but I hate the fact it was turned into a thanksgiving episode and that if you watched it on amazon it's audio doesn't match up the footage for the last half of the episode. I can understand why it was turned into a thanksgiving episode, but imo I would've liked it to be a Christmas episode as it was in the U.K.

What a story. And I totally get why Sunny would have trouble with cookie baking, trying to wing it isn't as easy as it looks. I even know a YouTube series where they took it to an unnecessary ridiculousness.

And it still urks me how they would mess up that one episode. I mean, you'd think at some point they would've fixed it in someway.
And technical goof aside, Izzy is right about worrying it the supplies hit the people. I mean, they dropped the crates down. (While in Fireman Sam, Tom was wise to put parachutes on the supplies he dropped)
I'm pleasantly surprised.
I've read several Thomas crossovers on this site, and many left much to be desired. They had convoluted plots with massive holes or didn't make any sense, and worst of all, nearly all of them had so many grammatical errors as to render them neigh unreadable.
Yours has excellent grammar, is an easy read, has simple, short, and straightforward plots that are fun, and you've done an excellent job at capturing the personalities of the ponies, peoples, and trains. Plus, you even slipped in some TYT easter eggs and managed alittle Pinkie-Pie-fourth-wall tomfoolery to boot! Kudos to you on creating an enjoyable crossover that's a fun and high-spirited read!

I could easily relate to that. Me and my dad bake cheese based pastries around Christmastime, and the recipe has been developed over many years of trial and error; some of our early efforts resembled Sunny's disastrous attempts in the TYT short.

I only became aware of the shoddy edit when I joined the internet TTTE community (as for obvious reasons the Thanksgiving edit didn't air in the UK). Given that the fans have fixed the incorrectly timed narration, it amazes me Mattel seemingly can't.
Not only is simply throwing crates out of the side of a helicopter potentially lethal to the people down below, the supplies could easily be damaged on impact. This is why, as you rightly point out, airdropped supplies need to have a parachute connected to them. A broken shovel is of use to nobody, after all. Well, maybe Izzy (as she could unicycle it), but that's besides the point.

Thank you so much! One of my main objectives with these stories was to try and capture the tone and style of the original series whilst blending it with what I like about MLP G5. The difference in my approach is that the G5 characters reside in the same world as the Thomas and Friends characters rather than travelling there, which eliminates the need for dimension hopping. Keeping the plot easy to follow is also important to me; better a simple story told well than a complex one told badly.

Exactly. And snow may be like a pillow in certain ways, but it’s not that much like a pillow. And it’s hard to predict where it’ll land so you can’t catch it using several people holding open a blanket or trap like a net.
Hence why a parachute is a better option.
Given the amazing things Izzy can do with broken objects, she would’ve fashioned a different kind fo shovel from a broken one.
