It's been ten years since the blackout. We've all depended on the magic that the Unicorns and the Princesses had. One night, however, every horn just, stopped working.
Levitation spells stopped working, teleportation was unavailable, and worst of all, the Princesses no longer had control over the Sun and Moon.
Panic set about Equestria.
The society fell, as the Princesses mysteriously left; their fate unknown by the citizens of Ponyville.
Those who were lucky, got out of the town.
Soon however, leftover Royal Guards from both Celestia's and Luna's military assimilated together to create militias to rule over the survivors.
This is the journey of Twilight Sparkle, and how she saved her brother from the militias, with the help of her uncle, Evening Star.

Intriguing. A good thing that this fic has over the show is that this actually has a plausible explanation in-universe: Magic, possibly Discord. On Earth, there is no kind of technology that can even cause all forms of technology and power (besides wood-burning) to stop, let alone sustain it for a decade.
The, COMMAS, are, a, bit, too, frequent. Otherwise, I, didn't, catch, any, mistakes.

Also, if an EMP had enough power to know the world out, a small pendant that emitted destructive interference wouldn't be able to produce enough power to override the signal.

Yeah, it wouldn't knock out steam engines. Internal engines a bit iffy. They would work, yes, but you'd have to find another method of lighting the gas or other fuel.
Generators would be fine until you turned it on. If the EMP field was sustained, it would burn out the moment it started up. It's sorta like a novel I once read... Light's Out? I think?
I do agree that the pendent wouldn't be strong enough to over ride the signal itself, but if it set up a repeating signal that can use a natural object as a repeater, it could reach pretty far, but not the whole Earth, yeah.
Sorry if this doesn't mesh with the show, I haven't seen all/most of them.
