I think I messed up by making an outline for that, it makes it feel like a chore because instead of creating I'm just filling in the gaps from one bullet point to the next.

Think I made this mistake as well.

You make an outline to make the best possible story. To see how many sexy things you can throw into the plot—then refine. But it goes from being immersed in the composition to checking the beat sheet to ensure you're following it correctly.

I'm still trying to learn the balance between having an outline and spontaneous writing.

I'm thinking about tossing what I have, waiting a week or so, and then just sitting down and writing it all the way through, quality be darned. Then just editing and polishing it afterwards.
