It's funny how Luna calls Ari a fake alicorn for not having an ethereal mane and tail. So then, Luna, what does that mike Twilight and Cadance then? Prejudice much there, Moonbutt? I think someone is scared she's gonna get her ass beat.

Both are young and small compared to Celestia an Luna, by his size Ari would be as old as them. It be like seeing some 6' tall buff dude with no signs of going through puberty. No pubic hair or adams apple. It be strange and off putting. I think her reaction was warrented.
I asked the same question last chapter

Huh, I imagine changeling Queens live as long as alicorns?

Yeah good point

Keep up the good work! :)

Presumably, Twilight hasn't become an alicorn yet. Even so, she mentioned it was a sign of power, and called it a "proper" mane in her thoughts. I think he either just doesn't know the spell to make it happen, or doesn't have enough innate power to activate it passively. She wasn't expecting a situation where an alicorn wouldn't be familiar with alicorn customs, so she took this as a sign of being a creature that posed as an alicorn but wasn't, therefore calling him a "fake alicorn".

Yeah that makes sense now that you mention it
Um, you didn't mention that. There wasn't one mention of weather in that letter.
So, it turns out that Chrysalis didn't taint Ari's letter with bias....that's a bit of an unpleasant surprise. I'd been hoping she did and that Ari had, in reality, tried to remain civil with the princesses. The first part of his letter certainly gave the impression that he was trying to be cordial.
