Nick eventually trekked the mounded streets of snow with a little help from his hot friend. He never would have guessed that having a talking pony with a fiery mane would come so handy. He was not complaining when she used it to melt a path for him, which made the journey much quicker and easier.

He made it around the corner and found the store he had mind not very busy, only to have his arm tugged hard by the alicorn before finding himself at the front and a very aggravated pony flaring her wings and snorting dangerously.

"Daybreaker, what the hell was—"

"Step forward, I bucking dare you!" Daybreaker threatened, dragging her hoof across the concrete.

Jason had no idea what had gotten into her but quickly deduced what had her so riled up and wondered if she going a little crazy herself.

..... Ummm... who the Hell is Jason?

I like the premise and what you're doing in general but the pacing is bothering me. Without trying to sound rude, I'd almost start over again and slow things down dramatically, especially the romance part. The problem is that you've approached it from a brony's perspective, which would accept Daybreak as quickly as your character did. Nick may be used to the mean streets of NYC but a flaming talking magical horse, let alone calling her beautiful? Too quick. I realize he thought he was hallucinating but even after, things progressed a little too quickly, at least for my taste. That said, I'm still gonna track it and leave a like.

"Look there," she thrust her hoof to the corner of a house, where a silver cadillac was parked with the rear passenger window down and an elderly man staring right at Nick. "He has not taken his eyes off of you ever since we stepped outside. They have been following us the entire time."

Nick's eyes widened and then narrowed on the person after a solid minute of thinking. He attempted to approach the person, but they were quick to raise the tinted window before having the driver take them elsewhere.

I am thinking that the old man is able to see her and was just staring to make sure that what he was seeing was real. Or that he and those in the car are part of some secret military organization that hunts down any displaced magical creatures that found its way to Earth.

This is good. Like really good. I like the premise of the story, the characters are engaging and to some it might seem like it's moving really fast but the pace for me is fitting. I've been creeping around this site for a long-ass time and have read many stories here and this one right here feels like a breath of fresh air. I really do hope you continue this story and you definitely have a like from me and a favorite.

I will not speak for others, but I think you should focus on one story, preferably fresh one you have just started. We will read everything you write and it will be easier for you to finish one story and switch to another, because almost all your stories are incomplite. People will say update this one or that one, it will drive you crazy to switch from one to another.
You started " Touch Thy Burning Heart", you should focus on it and create a masterpiece. I vote for that.
