OK, one minute in and I've made the assumption that Rarity already needs to die. Painfully. Like, Indian-style, with guts strung up through the trees and stuff.
What disturbs me is not the story itself. What disturbs me is that people, humans, actually do this, and there are many of them out there. When I watched the news and saw these kinds of things, like a father that locks his daughter in the basement for 30 years and abuses her, I was baffled but didn't give much thought. This story gave me a new perspective. The amount of detail shows me how sick this kind of thing is, more than I could ever imagine. I am simply unable to understand why a person would do these things, I can even respect, if there is consent, but doing it by force fills me with rage and fear. Fear because one day it could happen to me, and I wouldn't even be expecting it. The way you wrote this feels very realistic, I have never seen something of this caliber, congratulations. I'm adding this series to the favorites.
This is also a great reminder that the world isn't all sunshine and rainbows.

Rarity's iteration here is oddly crass and openly direct. I wouldn't have expected that to be the sort of way she'd be written, it kind of trades in a viciously cutting edge for blunt forceful effect, and it's not a good trade at that.
Silver Spoon is a very strange little creature. Not just a complete lack of self-respect, no, she moves right past absolute abscence and moves out into the other side. How that kind of character develops is a curiosity.
Sweetie Belle is the crux of the story. Oh sure, Silver might be the focus of the narrative, but this is Sweetie's story.

I think you have a point about Rarity. I kind of lost her voice a bit in this one. The first few stories were written weeks apart so they're pretty inconsistent, especially compared to the multi-chapter stories, which were written on a regular schedule.

These stories....No, the entire Tarnished Silver series, is so dark and cold and unyeildingly cruel, that absolutely nothing I have ever read or listened to, including all creepypasta and Grim tales to be told in the Dark, come no where near the level of grimdark and cruelty that this story exudes.
That being said.....These are some of the best stories I've ever read.
This series goes beyond any fucked upedness that I could ever begin to comprehend. Ima stop reading now, lest this story engrave itself into my memory more so than it already has.
I accidentally read this story and freaked out so bad that I got got pissed at myself and started throwing knives.

I'm not so fond of the idea of Rarity not caring about her fashion. Rarity just is too invested in it for that to be the case, it would seem more likely to me that her passion for fashion is very real and that the two passions exist side by side. I actually think it would make Rarity come across as much more evil, that she is a perfectly normal mare with normal emotions and passions that just happens to include viciously raping foals.
Her caring about nothing but torturing others makes her appear too simple and makes her more an insane monster than an evil mare.
Nevertheless, I still was really moved by it and Rarity was still intimidating, just not as much as she was before. I liked the idea of her still loving Sweetie Bell and having all her obvious passions with that hidden evil self always lurking. I can still enjoy her as a monster though.
Third chapter now. I really hate to bother you with notifications but every time I read a new one, it's like it's the top layer of the cake. It's all so good. I want to read everything you write. Literally everything. I'd pay you money. The way you write everyone in this series so far genuinely scratches some sort of itch in my heart, and i'm so so glad you exist, and create art like this. It's almost like it's perfectly tailored to me. It's beautiful.
When asking if something is great literature I question whether it accurately depicts the issues rather than if it makes me feel good. Here I’d say no… but i cant tell if its a matter of depicting the psychology of abuse or how much this jars with the source material.
It reminds me of a fic where Twilight had dropped out of school to open a pizzaria. You’ve made some very interesting OCs, but they are so far removed from the series that you’re not embellishing or developing so much as creating totally new characters.
Suppose Scootaloo had parents like Silver Spoon, was still a flightless blank flank and somehow caused Rainbow Dash’s death. Her friends tried to comfort her saying it wasn’t her fault but that only enraged her because she knew they were lying.
She meets Spitfire at the funeral who was like your Rarity and Scootaloo runs away to be the slave of someone who’d punish her like she deserved and Scootaloo could feel like pleasing Dash’s idol somehow honoured Dash. Throw in Spitfire’s little sister and you have the same relationship dynamics and I would probably love that series.
As is, Rarity simply isn’t Rarity, Sweetie Bell isn’t Sweetie Bell and Ponyville just feels too small for someone to have this many victims and go unnoticed.
May I ask how much research you’ve done on this topic?
