The Cutie Map sends Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie to the mysterious twin-towns of Utopia and Paradise, where some ponies are always truthful and others always lie. Can Twilight solve the puzzles she will face and unravel the mystery? And what is Pinkie's role in this adventure?

I did not get a word of what Twilight said. Perfect story keep it up.:pinkiehappy:

This is just... really well thought out and clever. I love it.

And I knew Pinkie not being a Unicorn or Pegasus would be a problem!

Okay, I am genuinely excited to see what you have in store here! I cannot believe this story has no likes or dislikes! Well, have a like from me! Let's do this!

I knew the box puzzle was a trick! He never said any of the tablets were even part of it

Bravo! An excellent life lesson, delightful logic puzzles, and an interesting political struggle with personal ramifications. I'm impressed.

Uh, there's a MAJOR typo in Twilight's explanation of the second group. Since you established that the unicorn and pegasus both come from the same town, the unicorn is the truthful one, and thus they're both from Utopia, not Paradise.

Shoot, you're absolutely correct!

I fixed the typo. Thx again for catching that!

You are absolutely correct ... again! This time I'm giving credit where credit is due.

A clever set of puzzles indeed, and the logic is quite sound. However, Twilight's explanation seems to be missing something. Yes, in the specific case of a pony speaking only of his town of origin, anypony claiming to be Utopian must be a unicorn and anypony claiming to be Paradisian must be a pegasus.

However, in the case of the Alicorn Society, there's a loophole Twilight didn't mention: With the members of the Alicorn Society, each pony is able to lie not only about her town of origin, but also about her tribe. Therefore, a pegasus can claim to be from Utopia if she were to falsely claim to be a unicorn from Utopia. Similarly, a unicorn can claim to be from Paradise by saying that she's a pegasus from Paradise. Fortunately, none of the puzzles presented this trap, but still, it appears to be a gap in the logic.

Am I reading too much into this?

That was an interesting set of puzzles, and you actually stumped me with one of them: I thought that there was no way to solve for the second group! Sound logic…
and what is this about Pinkie Pie being an alicorn?! :pinkiegasp:

Another of the hidden gems of this website. Well done indeed.

Oh, what do you think Rarity will say when she sees me? Or Rainbow Dash? Do you think they’ll think I’m an alicorn?

I would imagine that Rainbow and a lot of other ponies would either faint or scream and start running.

Good work. I thought that the puzzle was impossible--another trick question--but once I saw where I made an error in logic, I was able to solve the puzzle. And I was able to do it within Twilight's time limit.

Well-crafted, well-written, and well done.

So to sum up: the unicorn and first pegasus came from Paradise, and the second unicorn came from Utopia.”

Second pegasus.

(How did I miss that typo?)

The better question is, "How did I miss that typo?"

I fixed it. Thx for catching it!

Well I read it. Now if you’ll excuse me. *head explodes*

This is a really cool premise for a story, I'm in!

This is something I was thinking while trying to work out the puzzles myself, and I think you're completely right! Twilight's explanation doesn't cover this case.
