For a creature made from malice- and hate-born magic, Shuck is pretty nice. Or, considering how old Shuck may be, is it possible that the signs of dark magic are the result of the creator of dark magic trying to imitate Shuck, going for the intimidation factor?
A good way to pull together some of the various myths of Black Shuck; an omen of death or a friendly companion, living in the darkness with the ability to turn into mist. I like it.
Interesting concept, it was a nice read
I'm not expecting to see one, but I would love a sequel. There is not enough stories with friendly wolves in here, magical or otherwise.
