I just thought I'd point out that the place is called Dodge Junction, not Dodge City...
That being said, it was a lovely story, with just the right mix of romance and clop that is rarely seen these days.
I'm actually gonna give you an A+ for originality. You're the first writer to bring up Wind Whisper, literally. You made Caramel competent and you gave him more swag than Con Mane. Plus it's not a slash pairing, so again you're fic has a lot going for it and hell you can make the story a deeper(no pun intended) ship if you want to because of the pseudo-cliffhanger.

It's funny, i actually remember when your posted you first clop, and it got a bunch of likes, and i put it on my read later. But every time i went through my list, i thought "Agh, seriously? The cakes? There is no way that could be good." How wrong i must have been. Suppose i'll find out tomorrow.
I can't tell if your actively avoiding it, but you should do more mane6. I think you're under-appreciated, and it's because the cover of your metaphorical book is off-putting. I think the majority, myself included, are drawn in by characters that they have an emotional investment in. What you did with Cherry and Caramel was as fantastic as ever, but it's infinitely more attractive (and gratifying, at least to me) with characters i feel i know. /opinionoff #foodforthought
674787 I've actually had the same thoughts regarding the mane 6, but to tell the truth, all I can write are the ideas that pop into my head. Perhaps I'll formulate some tales involving the other 5 (seeing as I've already done Applejack), but only time will tell. To be honest, I enjoy writing with characters that don't come with the added pressure of canon, but I feel confident I could pull off stories involving the rest of the mane 6.
