5681626 Sometimes i got confused if Luna was seeing an apparition or an illusion of her friend.

Regardless this was a good story. The fact that even Discord is serious here doesn't come of as strange.

Care to entertain me on how she died or how Discord was affected so much?

5684325 I think I meant it to be confusing. Death is a confusing thing, after all.
My headcanon for this story is that Celestia died in her sleep, which confused EVERYONE, seeing as Alicorns are supposed to be immortal. The reality (to me at least) is that since she poured all her magic into Twilight, she lost that longevity. When Luna was sent to the moon, she was put in 'stasis', meaning she didn't age - she's got another 1000+ years. Cadance still has a regular life span. Twilight, on the other hand, will live the same amount of days as Luna, Cadance, and Celestia, combined with her own normal life span. You can have any headcanon you want, but that one was mine!
And the reason Discord is so serious is because he understands. He ruled over Equestira with an iron claw - and a powerful one at that. Then this almighty, gorgeous being and her sister overthrew his reign. It's impossible around Tia not to be a little bit in awe of her power. She has stopped him at every bend along the way. All of his friends look up to her. Even Luna, who appears to be just as powerful as Tia, if not stronger due to Nightmare Moon, defers to her. And that almighty alicorn just died. He understands that all his friends and Luna and all of Equestria are going to be in pain. He realizes that now isn't the time to have fun and make things chaotic, because everything already is. He understands and adapts. (I'm also a bit of a LunaxCord shipper, just a bit, and Discord would get that she needs serious times for a bit.)

5684868 *coughs lightly* Everyone loves to ship Tia x Discord, but I like the idea of Discord and Luna together. Luna is so serious, Discord is so just.. himself. I feel like they would argue a lot, but that they would warm up to each other slowly, and it's just adorable to me. Plus, he could connect well with her on account of them both having been evil.
