A detailed account from various academic sources on the (known) history of Equestria from its Pre Historic Period to Modern Times with the Return of Luna.

Cute idea for an article. However, the organization doesn't quite make sense:

It starts with a quote about the War of 1812, which sets boundaries in North America. With the Europeans claiming stakes over dozens -- even hundreds -- of other nations, what made Equestria special?

After the map comes a second essay, which tries to express the range of opinions about where Equestrians came from. The essay would have been more realistic had it given each theory's strengths and weaknesses, one at a time... and had not made reference to Doctor Whooves without going into more depth. :->

Keep on writing!

25582 The dates of the articles are important to this, as one can see in one article the author makes mention of Luna while another dismisses her as Myth.

This reminds me of history class, minus the me falling completely asleep, and plus the ponys =>

Well, this explains Fluttershy, Derpy Hooves and why Rainbow Dash has no real tolerance for either of them.

Interesting, this is also kinda hinted at in one of the episodes with commander hurricane and the like. I wonder how pegasi would match up against modern and not so modern aircraft.

My god.... Again, swift spanish attack... 30,000 ponies, approximately, 20,000 at least died, Spaniards about 1000 or so, all dead... 21,000 sentient beings....

1207947 I was really estimating high, wasn't I? More like 15,000 ponies, 10,000 die, 500 spainiards, all die. 10,500.

What! No mention of Zebras or Minotaurs? Shaaame.

Do you know what would have been more interesting to see? A historical account of Equestria's first (non-native) human contact being the Chinese fleet of Admiral Zheng He, during the early 1420's. This version of Equestria certainly has some similarities to historical China (mainly trying to restrict the presence of outsiders in their lands). Perhaps it would be a Unicorn (ambassador), rather than a giraffe, that would be presented to the Ming Emperor.
Oh well. That gives me an idea. anyhow.
