The Second Journal Entries 31-35

Entry 31

You know what? Trixie is a wonderful pony! She took that filly in when no one else would! Trixie TRIED to show her the ropes! She tried to show her the life of a traveling performer! She should be BEGGING for Trixie's forgiveness!

How dare she vandalize my journal! Trixie should rip that page out and burn it!

Trixie went out of her way to accommodate Limelight. Trixie even bought her a smoothie that one time-EVEN though she screwed up! The lengths that Trixie went to, to make her feel like she belonged!

You were a TERRIBLE assistant, but Trixie put up with you anyway! You always caused trouble, you always brought the wrong crowds to the show and you never cleaned the stage like I asked!

Go back to Hoofington you worthless, no-talent, lazy, useless, ugly foal! Trixie doesn't need you! Trixie doesn't need anyone! Trixie was better off when she was on her own!

-The Great and Powerful Trixie!

P.S. Trixie hopes you get mauled by an Ursa Major!

Entry 32

Trixie didn't rip out that entry. She kept it as a reminder of how cruel and harsh others can be. It will forever serve as a reminder to Trixie that she can never trust another pony! They're all jealous of Trixie's obvious talents.

Trixie just needed to cool off, so she headed to Stalliongrad again.

It's too late at night to put on a show but first thing in the morning I'll gather a crowd and put on the BEST performance of my entire life!

All the ponies of Stalliongrad will be amazed beyond amazement!

-The Great and Powerful Trixie

Entry 33

Well, it wasn't the best performance of my life, but everypony did like it. Very few hecklers this time around. I tied one up and zapped them with lighting for a particularly rude comment. That shut them all up. Apparently some ponies in the crowd remembered my first performance here in Stalliongrad. They told me I'd come a long way since then.

I wish I hadn't lost my old journal. I'd like to go back to the start and read it over. I wonder how much I've changed since then. I wish there was some spell I could cast to go back and see myself in my previous glory days.

Hmmm. Maybe I'll take some time off from performing feats of indescribable magic.

-The Nostalgic and Pensive Trixie

Entry 34

Journal, I've had you for just over a year now and I've not written in you nearly as much as I wrote in the last one I had. I'm sorry I didn't pay more attention to you. I'm especially sorry that louse wrote all those nasty things in you! But something interesting happened to Trixie today.

I left Stalliongrad a few weeks ago and made a brief stop in Trotonto. I hadn't performed since the last time I wrote in you either, so when I got to Trotonto I found a small cafe and had a smoothie (extra hay, heh). I was sitting there lost in thought when two ponies came galloping over in excitement. Two fans I thought.

As it turns out it was Scribbler and Lucky Swirl! After Lucky Swirl saw me last she set out on her own to see Equestria. On her journies she ran into Scribbler, my old roommate from up north. Apparently she's now a travel journalist, who knew? They became quick friends and started to travel together. They're in Trotonto for the week and insisted I spend time with them.

The three of us sat down and talked for hours! We had fun and laughed and shared stories! I even told them of my unfortunate assistant. They were really supportive.

I told them I was considering giving up performing to go back to Canterlot. Maybe I'd teach in Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. They told me I couldn't give up, that my magic had brought hope to them and many other ponies they had met. Ponies still talk of The Great and Powerful Trixie! Her attitude and pizzaz! They love me! They even love the story of "The Dreaded Ursa Major!" I explained what had really happened but they didn't care. They said a little embellishment is nothing to be sorry for.

Trixie has never felt more loved in all her days as a performer!

They're taking me out to dinner tonight. I need to get ready.

-The Great and Powerful (and loved) Trixie

Entry 35

Scribbler and Lucky Swirl have left Trotonto now. Trixie will be leaving tomorrow as well.

This past week has been the best in Trixie's entire life. Trixie, Scribbler, and Lucky Swirl spent every day together. We went to a museum of magical artifacts. Lucky Swirl was telling me about how some of the greatest spells of our time were penned by Starswirl The Bearded. She's really into obscure unicorn history. Scribbler was so bored!

The next day we saw The Wonderbolts perform. Scribbler even scored an interview with one of them! Well, one of the reserve members. The ones that perform if the mane stuntsponies are injured or otherwise indisposed.

But the most memorable was last night. They insisted I dress my finest and took me to some watering hole-in-the-wall. I didn't understand why they insisted we go so early, or why we had to go at all! It was not my kind of place, really.

Then I saw the stage.

They had set up a performance for me without my knowing! I freaked! I didn't have any of my stuff! I wasn't dressed in my performance outfit! I didn't know what to do! Trixie almost ran.

They pushed me on stage.

There was no turning back.

And the performance was amazing! Mind blowing really! All the ponies clopped and cheered! A few rope tricks to start it off. I got a couple unfortunate volunteers from the audience who learned what they'd look like with green manes and one with a green coat.

I recounted my harrowing tale of the Ursa Major in Hoofington! A conjured lighting bolt for atmosphere kept the ponies shaking in their little horseshoes till the grand finale! I put on a fireworks show like no other! I didn't hold back!

And after it was all over Trixie got a rearing ovation! I've never been so happy in all my life!

Today I said goodbye to my friends. They continued on their journey. We all agreed to meet here a year from now. Maybe I'll do a repeat performance. Tomorrow I set out to continue my Equestria-wide tour. All the pony towns, villages and cities will know The Great and Powerful Trixie! I'll even find a way to make it into Cloudsdale for a performance. I've been researching a rather tricky spell that grants temporary wings.

But before all this happens. Trixie has one town she has to visit first.

Tomorrow, Trixie heads for Ponyville. Only this time things will be very different.

I read through the previous journal entries and thought they were brilliant. The follow up is even better.

Always a treat to see a Trixie during her more vulnerable moments. The parts with her assistant were certainly sad and I felt for her. However, it's nice to see that friends can appear when you least expect it.

I find stories that paint Trixie as an inspiration to others very compelling. If she were to realize the charisma she has on others (Snips and Snails come to mind), she'd be making a name for herself like no other. The mane six of Ponyville might have the adoration of the town but, it's only one town. Trixie is known everywhere!

Really looking forward to the encounters at Ponyville. She's not coming back as a broken shell of her former self, but a confident performer. Things are looking interesting.

Till then!

That was most enjoyable, I'm glad that her friends tracked her down in the end. There aren't many stories that delve this far into Trixie's psyche, it's refreshing to see a history and a deeper personality rather than the more common stuck up for the sake of being stuck up.
I look forwards for the next installments, hopefully Limelight may get her comeuppance for her underhoofed behaviour towards the Great and Generous Trixie!

Oh geez, I like to listen to winamp while I catch up on reading here and Trixie's cover of Time to Pretend (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtYNFjXZAIg) started playing just a little bit before the entry from Limelight showed up in the diary. :fluttercry:

i liked it ever so much, keep up the great writing

Great story, i don't tend to like characters like Trixie at all, but the way you have portrayed her, really deep without losing her show-off egocentric attitude was great! Keep it up

Lovely.
Simply lovely.
That is all I can say.:pinkiehappy:

A-MAH-ZAH! I wish to see more please! I need to know how the trip to Ponyville went! :trixieshiftright:
