Everyone thinks they're the hero of their own story. Yet nobody wonders just what its like when you swear you're doing the right thing, that everything you're working for is because you have to do it, yet youre seen as the villain for doing so

As I would like to quote a famous person from a certain anime “ RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!”
Cito "¡CORRE PERRA CORRE!"
Hiya :D
I wouldn't panic yet Jeremy is in disguise after all, and Celestia would have no reason to attack one of her little ponies now would she?
Thanks again brightlight for another amazing chapter. I'm excited to see what happens in the next one considering the cliffhanger you left us with. I wish you the best of luck with writing your next chapter, and as always have fun writing.
Oh... Fuck.
Oh this is getting goooooood!

I recommend rereading this. The beginning is phenomenal. I've been doing this since yesterday and its just as interesting the first time around. Trust me, you wont be bored.
A recap would not do this justice.

Look just because you don't like it does not make it any less true.

You're not wrong, They have actually done studies. One famous one is the facial expressions slash body language study. The presented men and women with pictures of facial expressions and body postures. Women were able to judge the emotion depicted, correctly most of the time, while men were only able to identify the emotion less than a third of the time. That experiment has been repeated with similar results. I don't think that its so much a wiring issues as it is a experience issue. Women are taught group interaction and group manipulation from an early age and practice it their entire lives. From grade school pier groups to high-school cliques. Women actively practice interacting with and subtly manipulating opinions and outcomes. Men don't do this and so have a much worse ability to read others.
That being said, that doesn't excuse the meme on this site where the protagonist is so dense that the woman has to sit on his face to get her interest in him through his thick head. It's overdone in my opinion.
I think a better way to do this would be how the anime Oreimo does. The main character has a classmate that is interested in him and tries things, but you can see that he knows what she is doing, he simply ignores it. He neither encourages her, or shoots her down. He considers her a close friend. While she considers him clueless, you can clearly see from his facial expressions that he knows very well what she is doing and why. Personally I wish that more Authors would go this rout as its more realistic than the Dense as Teak protagonist. I mean with some of the characters on this site, if the female shoved her crotch in the guys face,, they would misunderstand the situation as her asking him to help with an ingrown hair. No one capable of breathing is that dense, yet writers here insist on writing it. (This doesn't apply to comedy. This is fine in comedy.)
Again, there are better ways

"I understand killin’ but I sure as hell don't understand you sheltered bastards.” -ThePhoton
Ok, I just Re-listened to this entire story and caught back up. It starts off very strong with an almost mystery novel feel to it and things go very well for a fan fiction. There are times where I think the author rambles or is long winded. I found a few sections where I kept wishing they would just get on with it. Like the scene where Zecora and Gilda travel to the house. Gildas hiding, you know there will be a confrontation, but they ramble on and on and on about this and that. I found myself thinking, "Get on with it. Get to the discovery and confrontation already.". But over all the story is engaging and entertaining. Its a good read.
Why the characters decided to run back to Canterlot after running away from it, rather than leave the country was a bit mystifying. I mean the ending of chapter 30 was no surprise to anyone. "Im terrified of this powerful dragon who wants me and my friends roasted. We're really screwed, we're on the run, what should we do? Let's walk right into its lair. "
Yeah.
But the Author needed them in Canterlot for plot reasons. I'm guessing its reasons having to do with the construction company, so I'll give him a pass on that. What I don't get is why no one thinks of leaving the country, taking over some city state run by tyrants and fixing up the place. It would be the intelligent thing to do, it would be entertaining and a fun write, and it complicates Celestias life badly. Personally, this is what I think N.M.Moon should have done in the first place, when she first arrived back from the moon.

"It turns out that prostitution was viewed as an honest profession. However, how ponies figured out this was their special talent when most ponies got their cutie marks in grade school was suspiciously glossed over whenever the subject came up." -Typist Gray

Wow! This is some great stuff!

You have put a lot of thought and effort into this story. Eight years, if you can believe it. You put in the effort to write it, and I'll put in the effort to review it.
Good work on a good story.

I find it funny that this thread of reply's started in 2014 and is still continuing in 2022.
Which, to respond imma have to go back to the very beginning and continue from there.

It's not that us men are stupid.
9309629
And while this is partially correct, it's not completely so.
Yes, men are geared to look at patterns, it's how men were so proficient at hunting down prey and still are to this day.
Yes, women are geared to look at emotion, it's how women are able to take care of the young so easily and how the fraise maternal instincts is coined.
But for a man to try to decern a woman's emotions? It's not possible, and the reason why is because women are in a constant flux without a pattern to be seen. Men? They have patterns. Children? They have patterns.
But girls and women once they reach a certain age, they stop having patterns for the most part aside from wanting a decent home, a trophy husband, access to his bank account, and a lot of attention along with a unhealthy amount of validation from others. To which without the last two they become even more unstable and just start falling apart at the seams.
Sure, i might be more then a little on the cynical side with saying all of this. But why do you think men throughout the ages have been asking one thing in common. "what the hell does women want?!" Honestly, aside from the basic stuff I already listed, I wouldn't know what to tell ya because for the most part, women don't even know what they want themselves.
And that folks, is how you dig yourself a grave, climb into it, and fill it, all in one message.

Yeah and that certainly unpacks some possible theories. can't say that the mirror in the crystal empire is one of them though since it turns people into ponies upon crossing over- which one of said ponies could have been sombra? who knows really. -But with there having been humans in equestria in the past, that means that whatever brought him into the world has happened before. 😱
Or there is a doorway out there, where, once upon a time, people flooded through, allowing sunbutt to gain said prejudiced against humans in general from their prior barbaric ways. Because if it were long enough ago then she could have met some real horrible humans. Like marauders, or pillaging vikings. Which, i'm not a history buff so idunno if i gave a bad example there, but you get the idea. 🙄
Anyway, if there is a doorway out there, then that would also explain the lore of humans knowing about mithological creatures such as manticors, hydra's and all the other stuff in the everfree forest, including pegasi and unicorns if it were back when sunbutt and moonbutt had a castle smack dab in the middle of the everfree forest. 🤔
And that's the beauty if theorizing, you never know until you know. And continuing that train of thought, for all we know there could be a misterious portal that blinks in and out of existance in strong magic regions like the everfree forest, moving the earth side portal as well. But there could also be a being like discord pulling the strings behind the scenes just to see what happens- (in this case that'd be bright since they're writing the story.) -it's all up for speculation. 😁

I prefer to bet on 1 or a small group who, like Jeremy, have been teleported in some way. And no offense to the believers, I will take Vikings rather than medieval Christians. Pagans were often more tolerant than monotheists, and given their dominance during this period, it is more likely that some knight or group was unfortunately the first contact. And they had to do something really nasty to get Celestia to blame Jeremy right away. Remember she didn't give him a trial, she just threw him in a cell and left him to rot with NM and Chrysie.
PS:sorry for english but i use translator

As a christian I can honestly say none taken, christianity has some pretty dark stuff under the surface. One such thing is the fact that the church, specifically of the babtist variety, had kept women that had sex out of wedlock, and their children (the bastard children as they liked to call them) practically locked up in borderline prision back in the day.
The church had completely robbed the women of their freedom and the children as well, forcing them to live in horrible living conditions while keeping them from interacting with people outside of the church, for the children, they were forced to go to school 10 minutes before all the other children arrived, and 10 minutes after, never allowing them to be free of their watch nor control.
So yeah, no, I can 100% see a holy templar knight or a group of them going on a killing spree and burning down a town or three because they think ponies are unholy creatures made by the devil, utalizing whichcraft to bend reality to their will.
man i am so fucking happy this is back I am crying T_T
Wait what the hell this got updated? I don't know if I should be overjoyed or annoyed. It's been so long I don't even know if this is one of the story's I've missed!
11368682
chances are that it is one of the stories you've missed. XD after all, it's one i myself have looked back on over the past several years in hopes it was continued, lo and behold, it was.
thing is that every chapter labled [here again] has been edited to bring more personality to the main character, so i'd strongly advise giving it a reread from start to finish. it's really good.
11368798
Kinda figured but i wouldn't have known unless it got a new chapter. Lost my old account so lots of story's I use to read I wouldn't know if they get reworks only new chapter's. I also tend to like anything to do with changelings. Like substitute demon...shame that one.
11369622
yeah, that one was a real shame. and i can certainly agree with liking stories that have changelings in it, i'm actually hunting for one that i read a little while ago, it's about a human that became a changeling queen while also being stuck in the human world, said human having to control the hive through the hive link while in hiding in the human world. forgot the name of that story though.
another one i read that was really good was by the author KKSlider. changing expectations is it's name and it was sooooo gooood!
11369668
Yep I read changeling expectations as well and agreed fantastic story. The other story sounded similar to '5 divided the hive' I think was the name. Hell I've had my own idea for wrighting a story with changelings being a key part
11369766
naw man not good enough. also, neither tried to destroy the country, just rule it differently
11361934
I try to give writers the benefit of a doubt by usually saying that if the written decision had any logic to it at all, then the characters in the story couldn't think of a better answer at the time. Like when you have time to think about things you have done in the past and ask "what could I have done better? ".
11369887
Blank? By carrier of heartbreak?
If so, also a good story. Personally I would like to see some of Reykans works finished or continued.
Brightlight24s "the Assistant" was enjoyable as well and could use some love.

Reykan is definitely a weird case of absent author, because he's actually still logging in on a pretty frequent basis, but is completely incommunicado as far as I'm aware. No new stories or updates, no blogs, no PM replies, no answers on his message wall, nothing. At the same time, however, none of the stories are marked as canceled or on hiatus either.
Man I can't wait for a update, I must know what Halfy saw in Celestia. Something tells me it'll be a dark heart with a pink tint in the middle because of DB, but we we'll know for sure in the next update. Probably.
11362002
Not too many other stories that're still going with a long a track record (First Pony View might be the longest at 10 years, starting back in 2012).
It is because of your great return that I have discovered this story
