Everyone thinks they're the hero of their own story. Yet nobody wonders just what its like when you swear you're doing the right thing, that everything you're working for is because you have to do it, yet youre seen as the villain for doing so

You know, for a moment I was worried they were busted. I know that's gonna happen eventually, but yikes.
Celestia: Honest and kind to her friends, horrible and sadistic to her foes.
Can we go someplace else besides Halfy's house and the forest? This beginning to turn into HP and the Deathly Hallows part 1.
Oh come on. You actually expect us to believe Celestia did that considering everything we know about canon TOTALLY CONTRADICTS what Chrysalis said? You're basically making Lex Luthor look good to make Superman look bad. You can't DO that!
Wow he gonna have a hell of a harem going on huh?
This story is moving too slowly. Very little has really happened besides them getting out of the dungeon and going to this house. They've already gotten to know each other very well and have established surprisingly deep bonds, do we really need to keep adding more characters? Can't we move the plot along a bit more? Add some drama like having Twilight seeing NMM talking to Jeremy in the woods when she's on her way to visit Zecora, reporting it to Celestia? Or maybe having Luna finally narrow in on where Jeremy is through his dreams?
I initially thought that their stalker would see NMM or Chrysalis open the door or spot them before seeing Jeremy, panic and then fly away to alert some guards, so I'm pleasantly surprised that they've managed to evade detection yet again. I do really like this story, but I too would like to see where they end up next.
I already expect that next chapter starts from two magical kick on Gilda ass.
Good chapter, I am glad to see all f the old pals reunited again even though there will probably need to be something done to keep the peace. I foresee a lot of shenanigans in the future with Gilda added in the mix. Good chapter and I will be awaiting the next chapter.
4917754 Why can't he do that? People do things like that on a daily base.
4917912
Bad writers, you mean. A good character should stand on their own merits, not raised up because the others around them are being dragged down.
hes gettin set up for a really fancy harem if i do say so myself. alicorn, changeling, zebra, pony, griffin. all he needs next is a dragon, diamond dog and minotaur!
I senses a new set of elements will reveal themselves in the future
I sure hope somebody picks up that phone, cause I fucking called it!
4917804 I am gonna agree with you on this one, move the plot forward already! I want to see some things get resolved or at the very least get some satisfaction from this story.
4917941 no kiding man but really am so glad to see this chapter i was waiting for it only mere days and feel like it took a month
..I get the feeling that none of the princesses condoned their treatment. Or are even aware of what happened to Jeremy.
I suspect the reason that Chrysalis didn't get any love energy was obvious (Noone was willing to give her any. At all.)...
Nightmare Moon...I don't think Luna or Celestia knows that she WAS a part of Luna...If that was the case, Celestia wouldn't have let it happen..
4917938
It's a work of fan fiction. Nothing needs to be canon. Frankly the fact there's a human in the first place isn't even canon. I don't see anyone saying that a writer can't do that.
I can't wait to see her reaction of meeting both NM and C in the house!
4917938 You state it as it is impossible for Celestia to be bad in their universe. Good and bad are personal opinions.
So far only ponies have spoken praise of her; The Changelings weren't happy with her, the dragons don't like them, who knows who don't like her or ponies in general. So far only ponies have given praise to Celestia.
An example in real world for that is Julius Ceasar; the guy was an hero for the Romans, the Gauls probably didn't like him very much.
Celestia is an hero for the ponies, but she could be a second Hitler in the Changelings their point of view by example. I am not siding with Chrysalis either because I have my own opinion on her, but just to show that it's not because she's a hero for those that say it in the show, she is a hero for everyone.
I am not saying that a good character is formed by bringing others down, but you can't be sure about her treatment of prisoners because those conditions were never shown and what was shown were not exactly mild punishments.

A good work of fanfiction expands on the canon the way an "Elseworlds" story does but expands in by offering up fascinating new take. Let us take "Superman: Red Son". It addressed what Supes would have been like had he landed in Russia. And he's loyal to his country and powerful, but at the core of himself is still somebody who wants to do the right thing and is horrified when he realizes how oppressive he's becoming thanks to Russian propaganda. The core of Clark is still there. But the problem is this story wants us to ignore the core of Celestia's character. That in itself is wrong. It would be like a story saying that the Sith are the true heroes of the Star Wars saga when not a single thing in the films, games or books or comics indicates they're remotely decent in their goals or methods.
You can't present a premise that completely flies on the face of everything we know about a world or it's characters. Especially when you've offered no explanation for why we should think of Celestia as different in any way. It makes no sense. I write fanfiction myself, quite a bit. But I try to keep true to the core of the characters so the readers have a firm foundation and so I can show respect to the source material.
4918214
Good and bad aren't personal opinions. They're actual things that aren't relative. Especially in a world where literal personifications of harmony exist. That's like saying there's no such thing as good and bad in Dungeons and Dragons where literal gods and goddesses of good and evil exist. Or saying morality is relative in Star Wars where there is a literal dark side and light side of an immensely powerful Force to tap into. It flies in the face of how the current universe functions and makes no sense.
Also! Chrysalis herself said in the episode she premiered in she was an evil, joyful, cannot-feel-love person. She's clearly not misunderstood. She went straight to the deception, kidnapping and attempted murder instead of diplomacy.
4918188
This.
4918218
Wrong. A fanfic is a "What if?" story. "What if Celestia was the bad guy?" is just as valid as "What if Twilight had to deal with a human?". How strictly a story needs to follow canon is up to the author. There are some amazing stories out there that are very loose with the canon, and some don't follow canon at all. This one is strict in some places, loose in others. This is why the AU tag exists, to warn people that not all canon is followed strictly.
4918293
Don't we already have enough stories where Celestia is the bad guy? They saturate our market. Just once I'd like to see a story where it LOOKS like she's the bad guy, but the main protagonist is actually being told bull about her and none of it is true. Because her being the bad guy is old, tired and worn out.
AND the "it's not a canon work" thing won't fly. It doesn't for Elseworlds tales that suck and it won't here. There have to be good explanations as to why things are different from canon. The author can't just decide to change someone's personality just because they want a character to be in a certain place. That's the mark of bad writing. It would be like changing Superman into an alcoholic just because he failed to save one town. Even he knows he can't be everywhere at once. Saying he's go all emo over failing once is an insult to his character. Just as saying Celestia is a cold hearted torturing tyrant is an insult to hers. How would you feel if someone took your character and bastardized what they were and stood for?
4918297
You've already shown that you hate this story, so fuck off. You're opinion has been noted and regarded as worthless.
4918299
I have a right to talk about any story and point out possible plot holes and character inconsistencies I see. That is what a good reviewer does. You do not have the right to be a dick. That ISNT in our Constitution, my friend. I'm also not taking advice from somebody who's written ZERO STORIES on this site and therefore doesn't know much about writing. In contrast to me, who's written over half a dozen.
4918306
Wrong. It's what a reviewer does. A good reviewer provides ideas on how to fix it without dismantling the story. Keep going, you've already shown that you're a dumbass that really doesn't know what you're talking about.
BWHAHAHAHAHA! Then what's the first amendment? Remember this thing called "Freedom of Speech"? So yes, being a dick and not being sorry for it IS in our Constitution.
4918319
I've already offered up an explanation on how to fix it: our dear Jeremy is being told BS and Celestia isn't the tyrant the story keeps trying to make her out to be. You've ignored that because you're kind of a jerk. And no, freedom of speech is not consequence-free speech. Yet another deliberate misinterpretation from an "Internet asshole".
4918327
That's not offering to fix it. That's breaking the premise. But then again, I'm not surprised you don't understand what a premise is. You don't even understand the literary definition of "action".
Try again dumbfuck.
Nice sneak edit ya little shit. Grow up and stop being a whiny little bitch. Writing "a half dozen stories on this site" is no accomplishment (even more so when you claimed I never wrote anything, wasn't that a shocker when you couldn't even use a weblink). You want respect, get fucking published in the real world. Which, I have read your stories, and they are nothing to write home about.
4918349
The premise is "this human character is living with NMM and Chrysalis". That's it. Not what you seem to think it is.
And no. They're not the same thing. AT. ALL.
And you've written five stories on Fanfiction.net. That's nice. The most popular one has thirty reviews. My most popular has over FOUR HUNDRED. And a hundred and fifty "favorited". You're not talking to some newbie.
4918227 If you believe they aren't personnal opinions could you tell me why Neo-nazi's like Hitler and most others don't like him?
What is good and what is bad in such a situation? I was always told that good and bad are just the opinion of a group of people.
Personifications of Harmony? For all we know those things could blast any enemy of the Princesses and if they were friends with a killer and they didn't knew he was a murderer leave that killer perfectly fine. Besides it's a show so good and bad in it are based on the opinions of the writers.
Good and bad are personal opinions.
Right and wrong are based on facts.
Killing a million people can be the right decision to make in a certain situation, but most people would consider such an act 'bad'.
4918367
Because their idea of "good" is warped because when somebody is bad, their moral compass is warped too. Everyone is the hero of their own story, never thinks of themselves as evil. But that doesn't mean they aren't evil.
But if you want to make the argument "aren't bad actions good if they bring about good but are normally bad actions otherwise"? No. Stealing is still wrong and bad even if it's to feed your family. But we'd forgive it because, y'know, you had to feed your family. It's bad, but it's not THAT bad. Stealing for funsies or to take from others when you've got plenty yourself IS bad and IS evil.
And considering one of the main characters in this story has happily admitted she cannot feel love, and the other is an admittedly corruptive spirit that tried to bring about a genocide by making sure no sun could grow, thus no CROPS could grow, I feel their point of views are "bad". So they offer up twisted defenses of themselves on how they were wronged when their actions suggest they're in the wrong and just do not wish to admit it. In short, they're in denial about how they're bad people. And it would be quite the twist if Jeremy was as well, truth be told.
4918366
It's more then that. Otherwise Zecora wouldn't be here, Gilda wouldn't be here, Celestia wouldn't be in here, and all other characters wouldn't be. That's not the whole premise.
In this case, yes. They are.
That are publicly available on the web, for free. Not what has been written and is being used as an unfinished good for other products (like games, for instance). So, no. You're not a newbie, but you are a rookie. Getting "favorites" and "likes" on the web is easy. Get five star ratings from critics in various newspapers and professional reviewers, that's the level I'm working on. Keep playing in the kiddie pool, the business world would have tore you a new one already.
4918388
Oh, that must be why "slice of life" and "romance" are the tags! Yeah, not gonna fly. And no, you're still wrong about free speech and still wrong about your third point. After all, the author of Fifty Shades of Grey based her story off of a fanfiction she wrote and it has exploded with popularity. What matters is how much and well you write and present it to others to enjoy, no matter what it is or where it's posted.
4918393
So in other words, there can only be one plot to a story. Side-plots and other such nonsense don't exist. Right. Keep telling yourself that.
Not a single lawyer agrees with you there. Try again, only this time. Do this thing called "research". It's useful.
You seem to be missing a key word in that statement, "based". That means it actually wasn't her fanfic. It should also be noted that "Fifty Shades of Grey" is not exactly what one could call a "riveting" read. Read two chapters to see what people were talking about, got bored and went on to something more interesting. It's much like Twilight and Bieber in that regard. It hit a niche, got popular in that niche, and the rest of the world dislikes it. Try something a little bigger, like Stephen King and R. L Tolken. It's great that she got her start in fanfiction, but she isn't living off fanfiction now is she?
Actually, it does. You can keep telling yourself that it doesn't matter where you post, but the reality is it does. I've never put my best work up for free. Why? Because I need to be able to feed myself. I have a paycheck to earn, and that's my priority, so that's where the majority of my time and energy goes.
Story needs to move a bit faster in my opinion. This house visit takes to long.
4918427
You're deliberately ignoring the broader points I'm making to focus on semantic garbage. That's like when people said Obama said "you didn't build that" when it was utterly ignoring the context. Are you even remotely intellectually honest?
Also, we don't need more side plots and the like. It's been over twenty chapters and now more and more people are getting bored with being at the cabin. We want to move the plot forward. Interject some stakes.
4918442
And you're ignoring basic logic. You make specific statements and expect me to only apply those in the context you wish, rather in the context of the statement. So, while I'm being intellectually honest, you're making up bullshit to try and cover up your own fuck ups.
Incorrect. Obama shot himself in the foot in that (which people usually do when they go off prompter). What he did was put it in the context he didn't intend. He was talking about roads and bridges (in which he would have been correct) but he then stopped and said, "...and if you own a business...You-you didn't build that." It was valid criticism. What he should have done is immediately state, "I don't mean that business, I mean the roads and bridges," to reestablish the context. He didn't so he got criticized for it for the statement in the context of businesses. Now look who's being intellectually dishonest.
Which is hilarious coming from you. Who has, numerous times in this comment section, been proven wrong.
Yeah, we have like, three. That's way too many. And way to keep to the context of the statement.
Wow, I'm shocked. Some actual criticism rather than your usual brand of BS. Keep to things like this. It'll actually turn you into something that could be respected, rather than just the A-type asshole you are now.
4918482
I'M not the one who's dropping f bombs and cursing. That was you. And no, Obama said nothing wrong, anybody seein the speech could tell he was talking about the infrastructure govt crafts that allows private sectors to succeed. The RW ignored that on purpose like you're ignoring my points on how the Celestia-as-villain thing is overdone and goes against everything she stands for on the show and in the comics, and there's been NO explanation for why she'd be different. If you're going to do that, you have to explain why a character isn't acting the way she should be, going into backstory. Showing how your story diverges from the canon and not just throwing stuff in our face and saying "accept this". Is she under a spell? Did the two villainesses do something to her in THIS story that they didn't in the original canon? There has to be an explanation. But this story is FAR too light on answers.
4918509
Aw, is the poor baby offended that he's getting cursed at for being stupid? Grow up and get thicker skin. Be glad I'm keeping it as clean as it is. It's more than you deserve.
Someone didn't read the transcript or listen to what was actually said. Anyone unbiased person can see that it was in context. Just not the one Obama wanted.
Wrong, I already did when you first brought it up, which is still there. Unlike yours, where you were the one to start slinging curses and insults left and right. You are the one bringing up that are purely made up. You don't get to say "oh, but I/he/she wrote Celestia as a good guy" in a different person's fanfic. Each of them stand on their own (which, I should point out, that this one is way more popular than yours, based on upvotes alone) and have nothing to do with each other. Second thing, you see that tag that says "Alternate Universe"? That basically gives the author the right to do whatever he wants with the canon. If you don't like it, leave. You're not changing anyone's mind, and you've only made yourself look like the asshole, especially given that the author explicitly told you to stop the first time. This time looks like is going to earn you a block, which I'm surprised you didn't earn the first time. Out of all of this, you've made only two points: Celestia shouldn't be evil (your opinion) when we have yet to confirm either way, and that the story is too slow for your liking. All of the rest has been either insults or made up BS to try and prove your point, much like every other time you've done this to an HiE.
See that little thing in between the download links and the rating? Yeah, it says "incomplete", as in "not yet finished" or "not complete". This means that more has to be written. This also indicates that the answers are coming. Criticism of them not coming fast enough is fine, but as along as that "Incomplete" is still there, it's dishonest to say that the answer do not exist. They just aren't there yet. It could be that the author is actively holding out on the answers because it actually serves a purpose.
4918540
One, it's completely belong to ignore the correct context of somebody's speech. Too, it doesn't change the fact that you're vulgarian. Three, how would you feel if your own characters were deliberately misrepresented by another author and their work? I'm guessing you would be pretty annoyed or angry.
An alternate universe or "elseworlds" story will often want a character to act or respond to something in a certain way that differs from how they would normally act under Canon. At the core of the character, that stamp and foundation of the Canon, that has to still be there in the story so that even though the readers can see that the outside might be different, the inside is still the same. Altering a character's personality drastically and radically just because you want them to be in the specific place, even if that place doesn't make any sense given what the readers know of the character in Canob is bad writing. It's asking the readers to not think. And this story has drastically altered Celestia's personality just to make her a villain and make the two villainesses that Jeremey is getting romantically involved with look good. That's not respectful to the source material or the character.
I'm surprised nightmare moon didn't charge Gilda thinking she was attacking him. Or will she?
4918366
You know, I decided to do some checking up on this "fact":
So, imagine my surprise when I find out that, said story doesn't exist I mean, here's the highest rated story ON THIS SITE:
i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r749/Ghost-091/ca9890b7-37c7-4d45-8956-e801e637927a_zps39d65430.png?t=1409249573
400 Likes (since comments mean absolutely nothing on FimFic)? Looks more like 41 to me. Well, maybe I'm being to harsh. I mean, while he's got giving me any credit for those old stories I wrote on FF.net, I'm willing to give him credit for them. So I pulled up the user page and well:
i1365.photobucket.com/albums/r749/Ghost-091/f8b29b7d-c232-47db-8962-e4cc7106d86c_zpsc534ecce.png?t=1409249889
I don't see a single link to any other userpages on any other site. Aw, and I was hoping to actually be proven wrong on this. Someone has been lying here. After all, Everything I'm doing has been 100% my own work, no co-author, no "adoption" of another's fic, no using another writer's characters (beyond what's needed for a fanfic). Just my own work.
4918610
You ignored context again. I was addressing how you have thirty reviews on your FANFICTION.NET site. My most highest rated work on that site has all those credentials. Didn't we just discuss intellectual dishonesty?
4918582
[youtube=8Gv0H-vPoDc]
I already answered this "point", but I'll do it again. There is this thing called "Fair Use". I'm a firm believer in it. If they want to do that, I let them, so long as they don't claim to own anything. It's also been done, and I'm fine with it. I own the IP, so what they do has no effect on it.
Sort of, it means that you are changing a "key" part of the canon. It doesn't mean that the characters are 100% the same as canon. People are both a sum of their experience and more.
And? How does that change the IP at all?
Wrong. It's respectful in the fact that someone likes the show enough to base their own ideas off of it (and given that the characters do not exist, I doubt they care at all). Grow up, and stop throwing a hissy fit.
4918622
It should also be noted that "reviews" on Fanfic mean nothing as well. Especially since my first fanfic was a Command & Conquer 3 corssover with StarFox (which has very little attention, since there's only around five stories in that section), and my second was a Pokemon fanfic (which has several thousand fics). Favorites and alerts mean more, which means that my oldest work is more popular than yours.
4918630
Fair use is not a blanket excuse. You're just trying to offer up an excuse for the poor treatment of a COMPLETELY undeserving character when this site already has far too many "Celestia is a tyrant" stories and does not need to add any more. It's overdone, no longer new and creative, lacking in creativity, and insulting to the character.
I'm done talking to you.
4918218
KOTOR 1 - Sith start war to prepare galaxy to the worst enemy.
KOTOR 2 - Sith fight with jedi (that act like a villains "for greater good") and after kill all of them take they place and become new jedi (practically jedi from the movies successors of they ideology)
P.S. sorry for poor english and hello from Russia
4918637
No, your oldest work has 17 favorites and fourteen follows. My adaptation of the IZ series has A HUNDRED AND FIFTY favorites and FORTY ONE follows. You couldn't even be honest about that.
Comparison folks. Mine: https://www.fanfiction.net/~ngrey651
His. https://www.fanfiction.net/~champ11
Now then. Which one of us has more stories favorited and in higher amounts? Yeah, that's what I thought.
4918646
Except those endings aren't canon and only work if you follow the Sith path. In short, of course they'd view themselves as doing what's right, but they're still in the wrong. Even their methods give it away because they commit GENOCIDE. So even then you cannot really say their viewpoint is right and valid.
4918648
Oh look, YOU again. I swear, you are a pest. I'm gone for a few hours, and suddenly, you're attacking my readers again. Great... I've read your comments... ALL OF THEM. I didn't block you because I believed you would have stopped doing this. Instead, you continue to pester my readers. I'm okay with criticism, but open ATTACKS will not be dealt with. In done with you ngrey, and nobody who reads this will have to deal with you here either.
Sorry I let this go on for so long everyone. And thanks to the one who messaged me about this.
4918672
So you'll block him for responding to another person, but not for the one who started it with insults and swears, Ghost-091?
