A cold gray day brings Applejack to her parent's graves. In the garden of stones she finds another who is still grieving. Scootaloo never wanted anypony to know how much pain she felt. The two learn that misery deserves company and the company is nice.

Finally one of these that doesn't force cheap sadness and pity by abusing characters. While the story could use some polishing, the overall tone and story work really well. It doesn't fall into the trap that a lot of these kind of fics fall into, where the author just flat out abuses a character to try to force sadness, and instead sets up a believable situation with a bitter sweet tone. Hell, if the show was at least TV Y-7, I could see this being an episode or short. I saw the comic this was inspired from, and this seperages itself in a good way. The comic's main strength was the lack of dialouge, while the dialouge makes this fic. If it got polished, I could easily see it being one of the site's great short fics.
