Just because I'm imaginary doesn't mean I don't exist.

E

A look inside the mind of the Bearer of the Element of Loyalty, during the moments of her performance at the Young Flyer's Competition, and the events that led her to perform her second Sonic Rainboom. It includes a few theories on pegasus anatomy, pseudo-aerodynamics, and 20% coolness.

The credits were a bit excessive, but other than that, a nice little stream of consciousness. I'd love to see a more in-depth analysis of your take on pegasus anatomy (and unicorn anatomy, for that matter, provided you've got some headcanon for that.)

Ooh very nicely written :o you dabbled into a bit of Pegasus anatomy, and I liked that :pinkiehappy:

Thank you for directing me here from my own version :rainbowkiss: It was most worthwhile

I still say Loyalty had a LITTLE to do with it, but her THINKING her way into super-sonic as well as flying into it is a nice touch.

Excellent story, old friend :yay:
I particularly enjoyed the way you seamlessly integrated your own view of Dash's mindset with the canon events of the episode :rainbowdetermined2:

Thanks. I do my best.

I really like this story. You can practically feel what Rainbow Dash is feeling.

Thanks, and thanks for the faves!!!

Really in character.

Saw Ashleigh Ball's name at the beginning and thought - could it truly be .....????

This was an interesting read and one filled with nostalgie. Oh, the early seasons...
Anyway, you surely did justice to Rainbow’s character. To be honest, some parts of her thoughts were driving me nuts with how many exclamation marks were there, but Oh well, it’s Rainbow.

Also, a biological question. How do you think a pegasus’ air sacs work?

Thank you kindly for your review.

To me, a pegasus' air sacs work mostly the same way as a bird's air sacs do. The air sacs are constantly being refilled with new air so that even as the bird exhales, the lungs are constantly being filled with new air and there isn't a moment where carbon dioxide has the chance to accumulate, like it does in non-birds.

Hence, with additional air, a pegasus' voice would on average be louder than that of an earth pony or unicorn (who isn't magically enhancing it). Fluttershy never knew she could scream so loud until she actually tried it.

You’re welcome

And I see. I don’t know why I was expecting more of a combined anatomy... Anyway, good for Fluttershy!
