Nice chapter, and Fluttershy really was a surprise. I also really like the ackground you built around her decision. A bit too convernient narrative wise, her arriving and them making these plans would have been more realistic happeing on two separate occasions, but it is well explained and it all works together.

I don't know why but this seems oddly familiar to me when compared to some past experiences, all I will say is a fire pit, yo-yo, flaming marsh mellow, firework, and a stupid dog do NOT make for a fun time.... to this day I STILL have no clue what happened in full detail, all I know is it all happened when I was cooking some rice and burned the water for it

We are a carefully contained Riot and Mob just waited to be released. Nah. The way I have it is that the big difference between Discord and the princesses, despite all three of them having what I call 'cosmic magic', is that Discord's strength lies in being able to store tons and tons of energy and Celestia's and Luna's strength lies in regenerating energy quickly.
Incidentally, this is why Discord managed to break through a spell Celestia was certain would keep him out; after an indeterminate amount of time (though one greater than a millennium) getting power from Chaos, he was even stronger than he was during his 'reign'.
So, while normally Discord's power greatly exceeds that of Celestia and Luna, now that his chaos magic has been released, he's outright incapable of just pulling himself back together, even with the boost of the incredible chaos of Celestia going bananas and Equestria ending up on Earth. Now, if all of his pieces were in one place...
(Incidentally, the reason the Elements are so powerful is that not only do they have an enormous 'battery' like Discord, but their cosmic magic is very rarely used, they don't need the passive effects a living cosmic magic vessel has, and an entire species practically worships Harmony.)
