The sequel to Rise of the Dragonking of the "Prince of the Changelings" trilogy.

Discord remains missing, his reasons for not showing for the past fifteen years a secret.
Flamespyre sets his eye upon Twilight Sparkle and Princess Luna for reasons that can only be for his own twisted pleasure. He begins to slowly reveal his plan for the world. His target is the very magic through all the land, air, and sea. If he can but wrest control of it for himself and deny it to others, then he would indeed be unstoppable. But how can he do this?
He has a name for it: Oblivion.
Another had the very name once, five thousand years ago. One thousand years ago, it stirred a certain Nightmare against her own sister.
The chaos of war shatters a thousand years of peace as the madness of a monster spreads his evil. No place is safe. Not even the mind of Princess Celestia. All hopes rest upon the small form of the adopted son of Queen Chrysalis, Silent Wing. It could very well destroy him.

Excellent work but I'm not sure how well they will hold up vs whatever is being prepared for them, I doubt they have enough for this battle as from what I've read Flamespyre is very cunning and intellent enough to make a trap strong enough to crush them.

Excellent chapter, I love how you have the Ata and Star Journey have another chapter, also I find this prophet character interesting
It's probably not said enough but backstory is important. Chapters like this are great for providing information about WHY things happen. Not only is it tha authors take on how the world works but provides REASON. Without backstory I personally would not enjoy even a fraction of the stories and games that I do. Yes it seems like a waste to someone that just wants action but think about it: without backstory, the Legend of Zelda would just be a game of a guy with a shiny sword killing things for a woman that wont put out.
Best example of the purpose of this kind of chapter was in a another fic I read, The author in his notes said is was like the Source scene in the Matrix. A LOT of info with a boring way of telling it. But it was all Stuff you needed to know.

Discord is the son of Flamespyre?....Well at least Flamespyre considers him a threat. Discord is pretty much the equivalent of a Greater Demon of Chaos. {Practically a god in their own right.}
And seeing how he acts, Discord is blessed by Tzeentch. So he should have some plans of his own.

And are you implying that Flamespyre is human or knows about humans? Humans caused the destruction of their world and thus created magic? AHH, bullfeathers. *pouts* I prefer my headcannon that Equestria is a daemon world in the warp...And that it staves off the ill effects.

For this story and universe, one could be convinced this is Earth in the distant future...say ten to twenty thousand years from now. Still, fiction is fiction and fantasy is still fun to play with!
