Perception is a fascinating thing. Sometimes, how someone views themselves and how others view someone don't coincide. In fact, it can be absolutely baffling how different the two are.

The girl who seems to have everything together? She might be a wreck beneath the surface.

The girl who seems so inattentive? Perhaps she genuinely doesn't see the attempts to reach her.

The girl who seems so moody? Maybe there's more to it than what people see.

But of course, that's the thing about perception. Sometimes, it just doesn't line up. And few know that better than the girls at Crystal Prep Academy.

(This is a collection of little vignettes I'll be publishing, effectively going into my headcanons for the Shadowbolts. I hope you enjoy it.)

Sugarcoat doesn't like non classical music. Desperate to find something she likes Lemon Zest plays the Dazzling's latest hit for her. Sugarcoat dislikes it immensely. When she meets them at the mall she discovers she dislikes them even more. Especially Adagio . Banter ensues.

Anonymous is trying to take a nap near the beach. Sugarcoat doesn't want people to think he's a homeless person, and so she wake him up. He doesn't like this.

This was originally a collaboration between myself and GreenReaper. I have translated it from second person to third person perspective as an exercise for myself. I basically had to rewrite everything except the dialogue, so other writers who try this beware. The original second person perspective story should appear on Ponepaste when it's back up and running.

The happy days in high school will soon be over for the students of Crystal Prep. Soon, they'll part ways and choose their own paths. However, there's still some time left and Indigo Zap, Sugarcoat, Sunny Flare, Sour Sweet, and Lemon Zest will try to make the best out of it. Whether it's good or bad, they cherish every moment they spend together. Not only with each other, though – as the Friendship Games end, love looms at the horizon, coming from the most unlikely of places – Canterlot High.

It's been about a year since the friendship games. The fall formal is coming up and Sugarcoat is wearing the same plain blue dress she always does. That shall not stand! Sour Sweet insists she help her pick a new one, but does she have an ulterior motive? Even if she does it's unlikely Sugarcoat will pick up on it. Subtly isn't her strong suit.

Please note that the humor of this story is very much based in dry wit and sarcasm.

Sour Sweet has always been kind of unstable: one moment she could be sweet, the next one she could be kinda upsetting and rude.

But lately, she's been acting greatly sour, which has begun concerning her classmates. So, who could help find out what's wrong with her?

Her deadpan girlfriend who has no problem saying the first thing that comes to her mind, of course!

College has a way of separating friends, which is why having a girls' night out with some of your best friends is so important. Although the morning after can be a little more to be desired. Specifically if one happens to wake up completely nude in a strange house. Such a state can cause more questions than answers, but luckily Sour Sweet is with her best friends. Long ago in the magical land of Equestria, the righteous King Sombra ruled the Crystal Empire in peace, but there was a time when three others also ruled along side him. Chrysalis, his beloved - who went into hiding because of a curse placed on her - along with Celestia and Luna - who sadly became drunk on their own power, and he was forced to banish.

A thousand years later, his prized student Sunset Shimmer is given the task of make sure the Crystal Faire goes as it should, as well become more social with the citizens, but sadly that task is derailed by the disappearance of the Crystal Heart, and the return of Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon!

Now Sunset must find a way to stop the two tyrannical Queens before they bring the Empire to ruin! But she might need a little help . . . from the most unexpected sources . . .
