Octavia was no stranger to mistakes. She had plenty of shows that slowly went south, but she was usually able to fix things before they got too bad. But after a good night of celebrating, she causes a major rift between herself and her now former lover. Despite a month having passed, Octavia wants to try and clear the air.

After the Gala, and Pinkies stunt with the Poney Pokey song, nopony will take Ocvavia seriously as a musician anymore. After weeks of hunting for a job and living off anything she can scrape together, she finds a very successful nightclub which is looking for new employees. A job is offered to her by the new owner of the club, Vinyl Scratch, and she takes it without a second thought. At first all they are are coworkers but Vinyl soon realizes that she wants to be more than that with the cellist.

Silver Lining works as a Hunter, a freelance investigator and hired guard in Canterlot. Life has never been simple, but when what should have been a routine job throws him together with a newborn vampire, things quickly become much more complicated.

My unicorn parents called me a worthless mud pony. They pushed me every day to overcome my lowly status. When I woke up one morning with my cutie mark, I thought they would love me. I couldn’t have been farther from the truth.

It was not destiny or enjoyment that led me to discover the cello and composing. My parents made that decision, deciding before I was born I would continue their family legacy of famous musicians.

They did not realize what that decision would cost them.

The survivors of the changeling swarm that invaded Canterlot have learned their lesson: ponies are too resistant to be taken as a food source through violence. Fortunately, there are other ways for a changeling to feed. It is so much easier just to pick vulnerable ponies and brainwash them into willing servitude. They can even be sent out to bring back more victims!

On a related note, Vinyl Scratch picked the wrong night to leave the club with a pair of unfamiliar ponies.

Vinyl brings home a Godzilla movie, and watches it with Octavia. However, they both have very different takes on the film.
