Normally, history lessons equal naptime for Indigo Zap. But the lectures about the revolution which started their country managed to pick up her curiosity. Inspired by the tales about rebels and battles for justice she is eager to start her own revolution at Crystal Prep Academy. But in her fight for freedom at the elite high school she is facing a powerful opponent. Will she and the other Shadowbolts be able to stand up against their principal? Or will Cinch smother the revolution before it even began?

Upon meeting Sunset Shimmer, the newest member of Crystal Prep, by pure luck after school in the hall, Twilight hasn't been able to get her mind off of her. It's finally declared by Dean Cadance that she's in love. Shining Armor and Cadance couldn't be happier, and so could she.

Only problem is, Sunset's taken and she doesn't know it.

A journey of self discovery begins when we choose to take that first step. The moment we decide that we are more than our society's or parent's plans for who, or what, we should be. For Sugarcoat, that first step comes with a Gingerbread Cookie.

Inspired by Rico-Stone Rupan's Sour Sweet Stories, this story focuses on Sugarcoat. Follow along as she begins those first steps toward self discovery, and then follow further down the road as she passes those steps along.

On their quest to spread friendship at the strict Crystal Prep Academy, Sour Sweet, Indigo Zap, Sunny Flare, Sugarcoat and Lemon Zest decide to throw a party on school property. After all, what better way is there for the students to losen up and get to know each other than at a nice, fun party?

Though for the party planners themselves, the night might turn out to not be quite as nice and fun as they had wished...

Sunset has reached the point of no return. Life has torn her down enough to believe it’s worthless and pointless to keep going.

Sugarcoat is determined to change Sunset’s mind and do what she can to save the life of the person who’s stopped believing life will get better.

A serious meeting of the Shadowbolts is derailed when it's revealed Sugarcoat has been dating Pinkie Pie.

Naturally, there's a perfectly logical explanation for this.

Since then, months have passed and things have certainly changed. Twilight Sparkle, for her part, has not only changed schools but practically become a whole different person.
