One morning, tons of young ponies across Equestria wake up to find their parents gone. Once Flurry Heart realizes that all her friends' parents are missing too, she fears for the safety of Shining Armor and Cadance. She eventually comes face to face with a powerful dark alicorn that resembles Nightmare Moon who calls herself the "Sorceress". Having experienced the possession of a nightmare once before, Princess Luna shows up to battle this horrifying creature, hoping to find out who she is and why she is doing this. Can the Sorceress be stopped or will every pony child in Equestria lose their mothers and fathers for good?

Inspired by the official show, this is part of a fan-made sequel series I created called "Flurry Heart's Story", which documents the adventures of Flurry Heart as she makes friends and faces new and familiar villains, some of which may still be redeemable.

As far as Flurry is concerned, she's a perfectly normal filly with a pretty ordinary life. Sure, her house is somewhat larger than average and maybe there's the whole 'horn and wings' thing. But she goes to school with everypony else, her parents both do mostly-boring work for the local government and just like nearly every other firstborn, her father obsessively recorded her foalhood.

After meeting Somnambula, they are immediately thrown into adventure and peril when she finds a map that leads them to a cave in the desert mountains. Inside is an ancient temple where Somnambula is to meet an "old friend" as the map describes. What they don't know is this temple is booby-trapped and this mysterious correspondent is not here to be Somnambula's friend at all...

On Flurry Heart's twelfth birthday, Cadance tells her daughter she will never die.

Haunted by the loneliness of her young immortality, Flurry Heart finds unexpected solace in the only other pony who could possibly understand her — the filly preserved for eternity within the Gardens of Canterlot.

Flurry could not have forseen that an apparition of that filly would appear before her, and only her.

When Shining was under Chrysalis' spell, they both enjoyed doing something that Cadance—the True Cadance that is—would never, EVER do, or contemplate doing.

Something so abhorrent that the thought of it repelled her. Something so mind-breaking and insane that when she found Flurry Heart liked to do as well with her dad, she fought with herself to come to grips with the mere concept of it... until Flurry asked her to join them at it on Hearth's Warming Eve.

...Playing Ogres and Oubliettes.

As a pony used to being seen outside and usually part of the socialites of Canterlot, her knowledge in this act is almost null. She just knows it involves something with dice... and she dared not ask anypony else of good standing about it.

So that just left... Chrysalis. Does Cadance have what it takes to give her husband the present he's always wanted and say goodbye to her cool pony card? Only one way to find out.
