A mysterious creature from within the forest of Everfree has fallen for a certain yellow pegasus, to the point of watching her constantly. But will she feel the same, or simply fear him like all the rest?

This is the story of two criminals by the name of Snatch and Ransack. They were petty thieves with a list of equally petty crimes to their names. It was on this day however that they decided to aim a little higher on their criminal escapades and upgrade from basic thievery to kidnapping. They planned it all out; they had chloroform, they had the windowless van, they had the ransom demands, they had the location they would hold their captive, it was perfect.

The only mistake they made was the target they chose. She looked like a harmless pink haired girl with a family that would pay through the nose to get her back. What they didn't realize is that every single animal, bird, and insect in within a ten mile radius was going to take umbrage with her getting kidnapped.

Little Rainbow Dash is loyal to one pony and one pony only: herself. It's a simple system, and it gets her through the days. But that all changes one stormy summer afternoon at flight camp, when another pegasus blunders into her life--a pegasus with whom she shares nothing in common.

After many, many years of no contact, Fluttershy's mother, Sky Heart, has invited her to dinner at her house in Cloudsdale. Fluttershy is reluctant to, due to her mother's past abuse towards her, but she agrees. Maybe she can reconcile with her, and things between them will be better. It's wishful thinking, but Fluttershy is hopeful.

She brings Discord with her, because if she's going to be mending long-broken bonds with her mother, she wants her to meet her friends. Yes, even the ones that are immortal lords of chaos. But, as Fluttershy finds out, things won't go as she hoped.

(This oneshot takes place at least a few months after Twilight's Kingdom, and was written before season 5 came out. Reading my other story, Teenage Angst in Cloudsdale, would help give you a tiny bit of background about things referenced in this story, but it isn't necessary. Any Fluttershy/Discord is meant to be platonic, but you can read it as romantic if you want to.)

Fluttershy tends to a bonsai tree. It's a nice, quiet distraction.

On a stormy, overcast day, a yellow pegasus sings.
She sings for her love.
She sings for her sorrow.
She sings for the one who will never know either.

But when the mare who holds her heart overhears, will she have the strength to continue?

Oh what a day, Mothers Day, and Fluttershy has but one way to spend it.

Discord does not particularly care for Fluttershy's friend, Tree Hugger. So when she comes over to have her monthly mane treatment session with her, Discord directs her to the one mane stylist that could possibly make her mane worse: Zephyr Breeze.

Oh boy. Zephyr Breeze. The worst pony, hands down. Can he hold a fic on his own? Honestly, yeah.
Shakespearicles™ plays up Zephyr's innate patheticness to the right note while also showing he has, against all odds, improved himself and is at least apparently able to survive on his lonesome. Good for Zeph, I guess.
What surprises me about this is that it isn't shipping-shipping? At least, not yet. The narrative is clearly headed in that direction, and while I wouldn't say Tree Hugger deserves this guy, she could probably fix him.
I did absolutely appreciate that she is both more down to earth in this story than her one episode, and also grows pot in her basement. Also, there was a fun gag about love spells that I very much appreciated.
In all, this is a very nice little story about two characters who you don't see used a whole lot, and it promises more in the future, by which I mean there's a sequel that I will definitely want to read at some point.
