When Twilight receives a sickness that causes her magical surges to spin out of control, she accidentally turns the rest of her friends into foals - including herself. Luckily, (or not so luckily), Pinkie Pie was out of the mix, but now she has to take care of the five out-of-control foals before they wreak havoc on the entire Sugarcube Corner. With the Cakes gone, Pinkie must take up her responsibility as the perfect foal-sitter. Will she come out victorious?

Or will the pressure overwhelm her when the hope of her friends ever turning back to normal is lost?

Twilight has made a shocking discovery about one of her friends, one that could spell disaster for all of Ponyville, or even all of Equestria.

But it probably won't.

A normal afternoon reading session prompts Twilight to question the true meaning of weather patterns, more specifically... what exactly is a storm?

At the same time, Rainbow Dash is acting strange, as if her mind resembles one of these phenomenons.

The unicorn decides to compare two and two together, thinking that maybe there is a relation nopony else can see. What she does discover is something that she would have never expected. She just hopes her mind won't become a storm of its own.

A casino opens up in the humble town of Ponyville and the mane six decide to try it out. Of course, the result of going to the new casino has left all six mares with less bits to their names; but Twilight Sparkle seems to have gained an interest in the games of chance, they do involve one of her favorite subjects after all. Surely nothing can go wrong when a smart mare such as Twilight Sparkle, Element of Harmony and librarian extraordinaire, tries a hoof at just a few games based on probability, right?

Luna is shunned by society. Her sister is still distant from her. She is told to investigate strange magic in the Ever-free. Can she handle what she finds, and the emotions she has bundled inside of her?

Edit: Logged back on one fateful day, years later from making this. I'm sorry, truly, to anyone and everyone who followed this story for it's short time, as I, like most others, have seen the beginnings of fics that could be great but just get dropped. Not saying my fic is great, of course, was my first attempt at real writing at all. I just didn't have the time to work on this, and when I did have the time, I wasn't the same person with either the same inspiration or motivation. I made this a long time ago when my heart yearned for something I did not yet have and I let it out in a form of a fanfic. I would come back to this, and maybe someday I'll be able to be that person, but I don't forsee it. So I apologise to all those who wanted to see this journey to the end.

Sunset Shimmer ends up in Equestria and I don't mean the usual way through the portal, rather the way humans from fanfictions end up in Equestria. And without the portal transforming her, she's stuck as a human in Equestria.

And it gets even weirder. For some reason Sunset is unable to understand anypony and vice versa, Twilight doesn't have any wings and then there's the thing with meeting her former mentor again...

A new stallion moves to Ponyville, but it's clear from his interactions with the townsfolk that something is constantly bothering him. Twilight Sparkle decides to befriend the new pony and try to help him forget the pain of his past in whatever way she can, but the specter of war can add unexpected complications to any plan.

This story is on its second major revision, and there are a few things I want to clarify about it. First, the OC is NOT supposed to be based solely on me, and none of the events in the story ever actually occurred. Events in my life have influenced the story, and the story and characters represent my emotions, but it is not my intention to "ponify" myself in this story nor am I attempting to chronicle any part of my life. I went into a bit more detail about my changing focus and such in a blog that I encourage everyone who knows me IRL or who has followed this story for a while now to skim quickly so as to minimize confusion.

A downtrodden and isolated Princess Twilight grudgingly celebrates her 1000th birthday without friends. With Equestria beginning to unravel, she becomes more withdrawn, obsessing over lost friends and family and glory days long past. But her prospects seem to brighten when she is gifted a strange mirror that connects her with another Twilight Sparkle who lives in a better world.

Twilight Sparkle, a young professor from New Canterlot, has come to Pony Island. Her research suggests that one of the families living there is unwittingly holding an artifact from before the flood; such an ancient relic could not only shed some light on how ponies lived back then, but might also reveal some of the lost magics of the old realm. Even if it's just another dead end, the subject might help her to earn her doctorate, and that's always a good thing.

So it is that she finds one of the fabled Elements of Harmony. It is promptly stolen by a pirate.

And the adventure that follows sets her on the path to a destiny greater than she ever suspected...

After her Coronation, Twilight returns home with her friends and a celebration in her honor. With the reformed Discord joining the festivities, everyone is having a blast...except for Twilight herself. Why is Equestria's newest Alicorn unable to enjoy her own party?

This can be considered in the same continuity as "Why?"
