Reconnecting with them was all well and good, however it is during his visit with the royal sisters where Chance is forced to come to grips with the harsh and bitter truth of the things that have come to pass since his slumber.

Set before the Crystal Empire episodes, Equestria is in a state of chaos. When the Mane 6 find a small portal deep within the Everfree Forest, Celestia decides to go in herself, bringing her loyal phoenix Philomena with her. There, she is transported back to the past and the Crystal Empire, finding someone she'd only heard about in legends to help.

Same continuity as The Queen of the Dark.

In the far-off Frozen North, a mysterious, long-lost empire reasserts its hold over Equestrian magic. Tasked with securing it for the betterment of Equestria, Princess Cadance will be forced to overcome not one, but two of its overthrown monarchs.

The son of Princess Amore has lost everything and has to find his place in the world of a thousand years ago. Together, they gather their courage and embark on a dangerous mission to try to save the Crystal Empire, in which they must overcome the adversities along the way, discover themselves and build together not only their own destiny, but that of all of Equestria.

Turbulent times were upon the Equestria of a millennium ago. Dealing with the consequences of one evil after another and working for the sake of harmony required enormous sacrifices; sometimes the efforts of the good were in vain and the cost very high. At the end of one dark stage, much had been lost, but one sunny day heralded the beginning of an era of celestial peace. There is just so much that time erased, so much history lost from one generation to another, that the passing of the years managed to tear the roots of the past from the memory of those who live today; although some long-lived beings keep the memories of yesteryear as scars and carry with them wounds that never finished healing.

Lives, forgotten events and unanswered questions; much finds explanation in these very pages, in the epic adventure never told by any other manuscript in history, because you had to be there to live it.

To understand the present that surrounds us, one must first look beyond the crystal.
