It's Hearts and Hooves Day, Fluttershy's least favorite holiday. All her animal friends seem to like it, and all her pony friends do, too.

Sunset convinces Twilight to spend a Christmas with her and the girls in their world so she could get a taste of what it's like while accidentally showing her one of the best parts of the holiday.

Twilight's been depressed for a long time. Even through all of her adventures. Even through all of her shenanigans with her friends. Even when she feels like she's on top of the world. Even when she has the most beautiful and sweetest marefriend anypony could ever have. The weight of that burden only ever grows. But sometimes, the right person can make it just a little easier to handle.

It's Valentine's Day at Canterlot High. Everyone is with their significant other, enjoying the day and their company.

Everyone except Twilight Sparkle.

But ever since transferring to Canterlot High, her bespectacled magenta eyes have been lured towards one of her new friends to which she has grown close to. A longing in her heart has always been there since the day she saw her. She wants to tell her the feelings she has hidden away for the past few months.

On the most romantic day of the year, can Twilight finally tell her crush how she truly feels and join the blissful feelings associated with the holiday? And what's with the candy hearts appearing wherever she goes?

Rainbow Dash asks Applejack out on a date for Hearts and Hooves Day.
Long story short, Applejack says yes. And then she says no. Six times in a row.
Applejack tells Rainbow Dash that she'll go go on a date with her if Rainbow asks her the right way. But what the heck does that mean? Rainbow spends the next week trying to find out, employing everything from bribery by chocolate to singing to horrible pickup lines, in her attempt to win Applejack's heart. But it's only on Hearts and Hooves Day itself that she discovers what Applejack really wanted to hear.

Sunset has something special planned for today while she waits for Twilight to arrive. Being a Princess keeps her away most of the time but when Twilight has a bit of free time she spends it with someone she deeply cares about. Christmas was only a few days away and this is the only free time Sunset will have with Twilight before she has to head back and take care of their own holiday preparations.
