Rainbow Dash asks Applejack out on a date for Hearts and Hooves Day.
Long story short, Applejack says yes. And then she says no. Six times in a row.
Applejack tells Rainbow Dash that she'll go go on a date with her if Rainbow asks her the right way. But what the heck does that mean? Rainbow spends the next week trying to find out, employing everything from bribery by chocolate to singing to horrible pickup lines, in her attempt to win Applejack's heart. But it's only on Hearts and Hooves Day itself that she discovers what Applejack really wanted to hear.

I am definitely the wrong audience for this. It was well written but all i could see was a story of AppleJack acting like a rather horrible character to someone she apparently loves. It wasn't really because of the way you wrote it, you are actually really great at conveying emotions and i felt like i knew that i was meant to sympathise with both of them, but for some reason i just kept on feeling somewhat unhappy with how she was treating dash. I cant really figure out why though.
Anyway it was a nice story I'm probably just the wrong audience or something. Sorry

Hey, no worries. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I did you to make her seem more expectant than mean though. Like she was just waiting for Rainbow to say what she wanted to hear, but she was disappointed when Rainbow couldn't do it. I knew i was kinda drawing a very fine line though.

No Rainbow, you didn't. You may not have used the words AJ expected, but you demonstrated plain as day that you love Applejack. AJ gave you no indication at all what she wanted to hear, and played with your emotions the entire time.
Frankly, if I was Rainbow Dash in this story, I'd say screw it and leave. AJ was just awful here.
Hmm...the story is written well but the problem is the storyline. Applejack came off as a jerk here, making Rainbow Dash feel bad for just trying, and getting upset when Dash blows up in her face...she kinda asked for it.
"I love you"'s come along the way, so practically forcing someone to say it is a bit odd. So yeah, didn't really like it.
She only wanted the truth.

My feelings exactly. AJ was downright cruel. What about Rainbow’s feelings?! And who requires their prospective first date to say “I love you”? That’s moving faster than a one night stand! Yes, RD is a moron here, but shs deserves to be treated decently too. AJ can fuck off with her emotionally-damaging mind games.
