“What!? W-Where did you hear that nonsense!?”

“It’s obvious by now.”

“Is it really?”

Rarity shook her head in disappointment as she conversed with her friend, Sunset. The two were sitting down having a cup of white tea, which Rarity fancied above all. She took a small sip.

“I think Twilight is doing a better job than you are, in fact,” she said. “Now, for instance. I am sure that if I asked her, she wouldn’t be fidgeting so.”

“I’m not fidgeting,” retorted Sunset.

“You’re fidgeting quite a bit,” said Rarity, holding my cup to prevent the tea from spilling. “Is the thought so ridiculous? I, for one, find you two to be perfect.”

“That’s not it,” said Sunset. “It was just so-” The door to the band room opened and Twilight walked in slowly. When she saw Sunset, she smiled.

“Hello, Rarity.” She walked over to Sunset and tapped her on the nose, making her blush. “Hello, Sunset.”

“H-Hi Twilight,” Sunset responded, looking down and sipping her tea.

“Hello, Darling.” Rarity said. “ Actually, I’m not sure if I can call you that, anymore.”

“Why not?” asked Twilight.

“I wouldn’t want Sunset to envy me for calling you a term of endearment.”

“I won’t!” yelled Sunset.

“Oh, Sunset isn't like that,” said Twilight, wrapping her arm around Sunset’s. “She’s the understanding type.”

“Well then,” said Rarity with a smirk. “I guess there is no point in denying it any further, Sunset.”

“Denying what?” asked Twilight. Sunset was turning rose more and more by the second.

“I suppose I should just ask you directly,” said Rarity. “Twilight, are you and Sunset going out?”

“Yes,” said Twilight simply.

“Twilight!” complained Sunset. “I thought you said you’d keep quiet!”

“Well, Rarity is a friend,” said Twilight, nuzzling Sunset. “Besides, it’s not like you were trying to hide it.”

“I was trying my hardest…” said Sunset, realizing her argument wasn’t sound. “And Rarity is the Queen of Gossip. She could literally spread this to everyone in a heartbeat.”

“Half if it’s a good day,” added Rarity.

“See?”

“Relax,” said Twilight with a smile. “If the school knows we’re going out, it won’t kill us.”

“Which brings me to my next question,” said Rarity. “How did it happen?”

“Oh, that’s easy,” said Twilight. “It’s really quite the tale.”

“It is?” asked Sunset.

“Well, I’ve pulled up a chair,” said Rarity. “I’m ready for what you have to say.”

“Okay then,” said Twilight, pondering for a moment. “It all really started like this…”

“So, uh,” said Sunset, leaning on a wall. “You come here often?”

I was engrossed in a book when she walked up to me, a smile plastered on her face. I smiled back.

“Well, yes,” I answered. “We’re in the library.”

“So did it hurt when you fell from Heaven?” asked Sunset.

“I don’t suppose so,” I responded.

“Well, are you from Tennessee?” she continued. “Cause you’re the only ten I see.”

“Why, thank you.”

"Your dad must’ve been a baker, 'cause you’ve got some sweet buns.”

“My dad did bake a mean cake.”

“I must’ve died in a horrible accident, cause I’m looking at an angel.”

“Well, I do have wings back in Equestria.”

“You may have fallen from the sky, you may have fallen from a tree,” Sunset flipped her hair. “But the best way to fall is in love with me.”

“I’d rather not fall at all,” I commented.

“Guess what’s on the menu? Me n U.”

“That’s not a very good restaurant.”

“If I could rearrange the alphabet, I’d put U and I together.”

“That’d be a very confusing language.”

“Do I know you? Cause you look like my next girlfriend.”

“Why, yes, you do know me. We met a while ago when you tried to take over the world.”

“What do you think my shirt is made of? I think it's girlfriend material.”

“Probably cotton, actually.”

“Okay, okay, one more,” said Sunset. “Do your legs hurt from running through my dreams all night?” I pondered that one then smiled.

“That was okay,” I said before jumping on her and making out.

“What!?” yelled Sunset. “That’s not how-”

“That’s how I remember it,” said Twilight.

“I assume your story varies from that of Twilight’s?” asked Rarity.

“Yes, it does,” Sunset said. “Very much so.”

“I am eager to hear it, then,” said Rarity, sipping from her teacup which seemed to have an infinite capacity.

“Okay, okay,” said Sunset. “I think this is how it happened…”

I was sitting on a park bench a few months back on request of Twilight. She’d wanted to talk to me about something that had been bothering her for awhile now. I remember shuffling my feet back and forth a lot because I was nervous about the topics Twilight might bring up. In the midst of my worrying, she walked up and sat down next to me.

“Hello, Sunset,” said Twilight. She seemed troubled because she wouldn’t look me in the eye. It was then I knew something was wrong. “So, how are you?”

“I’m fine, thank you,” I said. “So, what did you want to talk to me about?”

“Well…” she trailed off. “It’s something personal. Something I can’t really share with the others. I’d feel… wrong.”

“Oh,” said Sunset. “If there’s anything I can do to help, I’ll do it.”

“R-Really?” she said, looking at me with a hopeful look.

“Won’t even bat an eye,” I said. She leaned in closer.

“Then, w-will you kiss me?” I batted both of my eyes several times.

“What do you mean?” I asked. She got closer, so much so that I could feel her breath on my face.

“I’m feeling insecure,” she admitted. “Pinkie has Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash has Applejack… I feel left out.”

“What about Rarity?” I asked.

“I could, but I’ve been… feeling something. Ever since I first met you. A burning passion that I couldn’t escape whenever I look into your eyes. Sunset, you’re my everlasting sunshine… er, no pun intended.”

“I’m not entirely sure I’m-” Before I knew it, we were kissing. The sensation filled my entire body. I kissed back and that's Twilight and I became infatuated with each other.

“Tsk, tsk,” said Twilight. "What kind of sappy love story is that?”

“Well, that’s what happened,” said Sunset adamantly. “My version was much better than your version.”

“You two stories seem to conflict,” said Rarity. “Was there anyone else there when you two got together?”

“I don’t think so,” said Sunset.

“I’m not sure,” said Twilight.

“I am,” said a voice near the door. Spike walked in and jumped onto Rarity’s lap. “I don’t know how, but you pretty much blew this one way out of proportion. It was simple.”

“So you remember it, Spike?” said Rarity, rubbing the puppy on his stomach. “Why don’t you tell us what happened?” Spike got comfortable on Rarity’s lap.

“It all started out at a few months ago at Sugarcube corner…”

“Did you actually nurse an Ursa to sleep with a water tower?” said Sunset with a chuckle. “I didn’t think such a thing was possible.”

“If anyone can do the impossible, don’t you think it’d be me?” bragged Twilight. Twilight and sunset sat next to each other, making small conversation. I was too busy being sleepy. Twilight was absentmindedly stroking me on the head, which made me feel really sleepy.

“You and I,” said Sunset. “I’m kind of a big deal too, you know. I saved the school twice.”

“Yeah, yeah,” said Twilight. “In fact, I wonder why that is.”

“What?”

“Well, you and The Rainbooms have been on a winning streak,” she explained. “It seems that less than a year ago, we were fighting for control of the school.”

“I was misguided then,” said Sunset. “I’m still sorry to have caused you any type of trouble.”

“All in the past,” said Twilight with a wave. “Besides, you turned out for the better, which made me happy.”

“I made you happy?” asked Sunset. “I thought I’d be a pain in the neck.” Twilight chuckled.

“No, you didn’t make me happy.” Twilight leaned over and planted a kiss on Sunset’s cheek, confusing both Sunset and I. “You still do make me happy.”

“Uh, T-Twilight,” said Sunset sheepishly. “Can we… keep this under wraps.” Twilight giggled.

“Sure I can,” she said.

“Awwww,” said Rarity. “So Twilight’s had feelings for you all this time?”

“She’s such a tough girl,” said Twilight, taking Sunset’s hand. “But she’s got a kind of soft spot that’s just compliments her so well.” Twilight tapped her on the nose once more. “Plus, she’s pretty cute.”

“Thanks,” said Sunset with a smile. “I didn’t know that you of all people could be suggestive, though. I really didn’t know what I was getting into.” Twilight subtly tugged at Sunset’s collar. When she turned to face her, Twilight planted a full kiss on Sunset’s lips, making Sunset blush from ear to ear. Rarity took this time to take a picture. When she pulled away, she smiled.

“That’s what makes it fun.”

“You two really are compatible,” said Rarity, flipping through her phone.

“Rarity!” complained Sunset. “P-Please delete that picture.”

“Don’t worry your pretty head about it,” said Rarity. “I promise to keep this to myself.” Sunset sighed.

“Thanks.”

“It really is my pleasure.”
