Being an alicorn princess had been a tough job, but now in old age Twilight Sparkle has finally been able to retire. Her ascendant alicorn status didn't give her immortality like Celestia or Luna, but it did extend her lifespan significantly. Now all that meant was that she was the only one left.

Twilight is crippled and weak, but manages to return to the Ponyville cemetery. She just had to see them. One last time.

Twilight Sparkle is dead. Now, she must witness her friends tear their lives apart and wither away, helpless to do anything as a ghost with Death as her only companion in the lonely afterlife.

Also, this will not be a story containing a happy go lucky ending. If you do not want to witness a tragic ending, do NOT read this cause you'll just dislike it because you don't enjoy the ending.

For more than a millennium, it was believed that the princesses were immortal. But as time marched ever forward, it become clear that even the alicorns won't live forever.

Princess Celestia is at the end of her life.

While Equestria must find a way to cope with this new reality, those that are truly suffering are those closest to her. None are struggling as much as her sister, Princess Luna. Not only is she forced to handle the duties of ruling Equestria and taking care of the transition, she must also cope with the imminent death of her beloved sister.

It had been a year since Twilight had heard of anything from Trixie after the Alicorn Amulet incident. Unexpectedly, she receives a letter saying that her so called "rival" has tragically died and is requested to be at her funeral.

And if Sunset doesn't find a way to control her powers; her life, and the friendships she's forged, could shatter right in front of her eyes.

The last words still echo in our heads. The day has come to face the lights, and feel the grief we supressed this week. She was gone, but we hadn't said our goodbyes. Equestria has a tradition. To say a eulogy to the dead, and place a gift to the deceased in their coffin. We never thought we'd have to do this for her. She was too sweet and friendly. A princess of friendship. But death never leaves any survivors.
