I have been branded a criminal for a crime I have no recollection of committing. The transgression of which I'm accused is evidently heinous enough that my friends, my family, and the rest of Equestria have turned against me. I want to say that I didn't do it, that it wasn't my fault, but I can't. The only thing I can say in my defense is that if the deed was truly done by my hoof, then it was done due to circumstances beyond my control.

I say this because I can't remember. I say this because I'm not allowed to remember. I say this because my mind is no longer my own. It belongs to the voice, you see. It crawled into my head one day—poured cruel and malicious words into my brain. I tried to fight it but it grew and grew and grew until was powerful enough to seep into my memories, my limbs, my magic. Now it won't let me go. It's taken my mind and body away from me. It does terrible things and hides the truth from me.

I am not mad, but under these circumstances what else can I do but plead insanity?

The events described take place before Season 1.

Once upon a time, there was a mare who did not believe in fairytales, and a very different mare who did not believe in herself. Their lives intertwined, weaving together a fairytale like no other, filled with chaos and love, friends and enemies, adventures and tragedies. A fairytale they felt would last forever. But it couldn't.

Be it with a bang or with a whisper, everything eventually must come to an end, whether we like it or not—their story is no different.

With nothing left to lose and everything to gain, all Rarity and Twilight can do is make sure it's an ending worth telling.

This story is a sequel to The Book of Knowledge

[Sequel to The Book of Knowledge] After Twilight read enough of the mysterious book she found; she couldn't help but find faster ways to acquire knowledge, and make sure Equestria is under a fitting ruler. The last pony that could ever hope to stop her is now on her knees, begging her to see the light. Now is the time to teach her a lesson, and remind her of her failures.

Twilight finds a strange book on her doorstep, with no idea where it came from or what it is about; she reads it. The more she read, the more she loses sight of who she is as she slowly gain an amount of knowledge she never thought possible.

While days go by, her friends try to reason with her. Can friendship defeat lust for infinite power?

Twilight has developed a device that can detect strange signals coming from outer space; signals from aliens! She gathers her friends so that they can all listen in.

But they may not like what they hear...
