On her search for a last minute gift, she finds something that will give her all the time in the world, and it calls itself DeLorean.

Scootaloo's parents have never liked one another, not since Scoots can remember anyway. Constant fights with the orange pegasus filly as a scapegoat don't help the crusader's self-esteem, though she fights to hide it from the ponies that matter to her. The young crusaders have their tree house, they have their capes, the dream of getting their cutie marks, all they need now is something to get them around Ponyville as they search for their cutie marks! A Go-Kart, tis what they try to build. But they'll need to do a lot of research if they wish to build they dream kart; such as, the mathematics, the tools, supplies, and most importantly... an actual plan with details sketch instead of a drawing of them riding a go-kart.

Scootaloo is a small pegasus with big dreams, one of those dreams is to be even more famous than her idol, Rainbow Dash. To get there, though, she needs to do a bit of growing, and first of all she needs to learn how to fly. A new invention from her friend Doctor Whooves may get her there in no time at all, literally before she knows it.

The end of every story is always a happy one. Whatever trouble has befallen the mane six is cleared up. Their friendship is only strengthened by their conflicts, and by the roll of the credits, there are no hard feelings. But sometimes that isn't true. Sometimes nothing is resolved, nothing is learned.

Following the events of The Mysterious Mare Do Well, Rainbow Dash finds her own masked feelings stopping her from learning her lesson. Her actions in the past week carry consequences, and soon she finds herself fleeing Ponyville to get away from her troubles. She seeks the counsel of Celestia and Luna themselves, the co-rulers of Equestria, to help ease her pain.

Not long afterwards, Ponyville is attacked by a mysterious new villain. Armed with a powerful trinket granting her the abilities of a unicorn, the white-haired pegasus known only as "Ultramare" has made it her goal to personally see the town in flames.
