Twilight Sparkle travels to the underworld in a desperate bid to bring her beloved back from the dead. All she has to do is follow the terms dictated by the underworld goddess.

Time moves eternal. Those who were young become old, those who are children, become parents and in the fullness of time, parents of parents.

It's Grampa Neb's birthday and all the family will be there. For Twilight Sparkle, it's a chance to put things in perspective.

The steady march of decades had changed Equestria, and they had changed Twilight Sparkle. There were new marvels in the world and, yes, the absence of others long treasured.

Now, something was coming up in her busy schedule, something Twilight Sparkle had dreamed of since her youngest years. Behind her wry smile was a budding excitement and the heady wonderment of childhood, the likes of which her retainers might never have imagined her capable.

Twilight Sparkle smiled, she didn't need to show any different, because she knew: for all of it, she was not so changed after all.

Twilight's caught a special type of flu, and it's up to none other than Princess Celestia to nurse her through it. A special, tender little moment follows in this most unexpected of circumstances.

This story is a sequel to Melt

This is a sequel to Melt, but can be read independently.

The common cold is, for Celestia, quite rare. Whenever she does catch one it's a time for privacy, reflection, and no shortage of small miseries.

That said, she's never had Twilight Sparkle on her side before. Maybe, just maybe, this cold won't know what hit it.

The Great and Powerful Trixie cares not for performative norms. She will go out, dazzle the crowd, and be utterly, flawlessly spectacular for every single show. No exceptions. Such is her skill, she doesn’t even need to practice her tricks beforehand.

Except, that is, when she performs with a lowly subordinate lovely assistant in the form of Starlight Glimmer, who believes it better to go through the performance several times in private. What a waste of time, the run up to a show should be spent preparing for curtseys and resting ones autographing hoof. What could possibly go wrong?

Nighmare Moon was banished for one thousand years. She had more than enough time to plan her return. Every aspect was intricately planned down to the letter, for maximum dramatic effect to instil sufficient terror in her future subjects that they would bow down without question.

At least, that was how the plan was supposed to go.

Finally, it was here. Power Ponies issue number four-hundred and nineteen, the grand finale of the 'Spectacular Siege of the Silver Stallion' arc. Spike had completed all the chores on his list, finished his afternoon nap, and ploughed through his dinner. He'd even eaten all his green vegetables. At last he could settle down, with a small bowl of gems to snack on, and experience the most anticipated comic issue in living memory.

Sadly for him, Twilight was acting strange. At least, stranger than usual.
