With three amazing blue ribbons up for grabs, the Applewood Derby is supposed to be an exciting extracurricular project for the students at the Ponyville Schoolhouse.

But as any professional race-car driver can tell you, there isn’t always a happy ending on the course. And when there’s a great big pile-up – the money shot for many paying customers – injuries don’t mean much to anyone who isn’t in the affected party’s camp.

Well, in this alternate ending, we go into greater detail about the aftermath of the race. There is no do-over, just a hard painful lesson about communication between the sides. All sides.

Their suffering will not be for nothing.

This story occurs in the aftermath of "No Second Prances."

After Trixie's magic show, Twilight seemed satisfied with the results of her endeavors. Starlight had a new friend, Trixie was no longer a solo show, everything was going well... right?

Waking up after spending the last 3 months in a coma, Vinyl Scratch comes face to face with an Equestria where the dead rise up from their graves and try to eat the living.

I do not dare claim ownership over The Walking Dead. That belongs solely to Robert Kirkman and his amazing teams. I merely want to use his basic layout of a zombie apocalypse for ponies. Is that really so wrong?

Ponyville has been struck by a deadly plague that turns any pony that comes in contact with into zombies! Rarity is one of the few survivors left but she is running low on supplies and patience. With her sister upstairs she decides to end everything, this world of zombies, all of the horrific nightmares when ever she closes her eyes, the constant fight for survival, everything. With a final breath, she prepares to do something no sister should ever have to do.
