Princess Celestia finds herself trapped in the depths of Tartarus itself. Nightmarish visions haunt her through the blackened streets of Canterlot. Something lurks in the shadows, stalking her every step of the way. A frail voice rises from the ashes.

It is said that the only way to escape Hell is to have hope. But how does one find it in there?

Princess Twilight Sparkle pays one of her rare visits to Canterlot since having moved to Ponyville. Visits that had become even more scarce since her coronation, and her former mentor is all the more excited about every moment she can spend with the young alicorn. The guards and servants seem to share her enthusiasm, though for some reason they seem awfully nervous as well.

As always, the two spend some quality time together, reminiscing about fond memories from when Twilight was a mere child under Celestia's tutelage. But the promising filly had grown a lot since then, and both are tempted to see how their relationship had matured.

WARNING: SMUT INVOLVED! If you must know in advance, it's some cuddling and a bit of almost-but-not-quite-kinky tickling. Story is a gift for, and was inspired by a friend, who will remain anonymous.

The news had shocked the entire nation. Anger, violence, and even threats of war have erupted in the colony on the borders of the harsh Frozen North, all of it centered around the infamous city of Gueldergrad. If Equestria is to put an end to the chaos before it escalates, somepony must venture into the foreign lands and set things right.

A noble unicorn steps up to meet the challenge: Shining Armor. Newest prince of the Crystal Empire. Captain of the Royal Guard. The pride of the Equestrian armed forces.

Every class has its resident dunce. Sometimes more than one of them. We've all seen it before: the idiots who make a ruckus whenever they can, sometimes making everyone else laugh, sometimes just to make themselves look bad. Not that they seem to care either way.

When faced with such a bond, one could say it's just "stupidity seeking out its own." In a way, perhaps they're right. Friendship works in mysterious ways.

That said, when the newest group of foals are brought under Cheerilee's care, she gets to see one such duo form among them: a mouthy joker named Snips, and a slow rascal named Snails. Two troublemakers bound in mischief, with no sign of either of them wanting to grow out of it.

This is their story... or at least some of it.

The golden rule of gambling: "quit while you're ahead."

Princess Twilight Sparkle did not heed this advice. After losing a bet, she is about to learn of the consequences the hard way, and Princess Cadence intends to enjoy every second of it.

Will Princess Celestia survive this incident? And why the hell is Princess Luna always missing at times like these?

It's the perfect bedtime story: the tale of a brave colt who wants to become a knight. A kingdom in peril. A loved one imprisoned. A quest to slay an evil dragon. A fight to save the world.

This story is a sequel to Look Up

(NOTE: Not a direct sequel, in the sense that it isn't necessary to read the prequel in order to understand what's going on. 99% of this fic relies on canon events, namely the aftermath of the episode "The Last Roundup")

Rarity is angry at Rainbow Dash for stranding her and Pinkie Pie in the Badlands. Very angry. At Twilight's suggestion, the rest of their friends convince the bickering duo to take a trip to Las Pegasus in the hope that spending a couple of fun days there will help form truce between the two.

The city, however, offers infinitely more than that...
